Collaged Quote Photographed On A Building In San Antonio, TX
My husband and I have long considered
art to be one of the extras in life that feeds our souls.
To single out a favorite piece is impossible.
Instead, I singled out a piece that hangs in my office.
It's special for several reasons.
~ The Artist, My Friend Mitzi ~
~ The Subject, Paris ~
~ The Incredible Layers of Details ~
This piece started with the
painting of this darling French girl.
Layer by layer, Mitzi added in
fun details with paper, oils, acrylics, and inks.
~ Pops of Red ~
~ An Audrey Quote ~
The frame is a
piece of art in its own right.
Even Mitzi's
signature is a mini work of art.

Bonjour, mon amis,
ReplyDeleteOh, yes, Paris is always a good idea. Your painting collage by your friend is a real treasure.
Your Paris maps, Puce brochure, etc... are wonderful resources. All contain places I love to visit while in Paris.
Judith
Oh, how lovely, Sarah. I do love Mitzi's art, too! I've always admired mixed media artists. The Audrey Hepburn quote is perfect for the piece, too.

And to have a friend who created it -- even better. She is one talented lady. The details are amazing.

Thank you so much for dropping by my blog. I had a great time with the piece of art that I displayed. I'm not an artist, however....I may give my talents a try.
ReplyDeleteI love mixed media art and this picture that hangs in your office is an example of the art that I enjoy.
thank you for sharing...
Blessings,

WOW. Sarah, I have so much to learn about art in all mediums, including POETRY! And I start my writing class in about two weeks and I am so excited. I have even tried a little watercolour in the last two weeks and I honestly appreciate artists because to get the EFFECT you desire is not easy. This piece you share has that SOUL we lovers of great art need in our souls! How does one achieve with a STROKE of the brush, just an air of emotion? I suppose very much in the same fashion a writer uses words: selecting the write ones, the correct textures and colors.
ReplyDeleteThank you precious Sarah for "visiting" my home today. That black and white tile floor is a pattern I always loved, and so happens to be the style I would see in castles much later in my encounter with castles through books and photos! I just happened to always want a tiled floor as such!
Life is like a garden in so many ways, and one could write volumes; it is another skill of the writer to know just how much to say in a short amount of space and get the general message across. I hope you felt welcomed into our little tale.
ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND! Anita
Beautiful and special Parisian artwork and yes, more so because it was done by a good friend, that is priceless! I think Paris is always a good idea too! Yes, hubby and I love artwork and are very interesting and learning and here you are with some lessons on art. Artists run around our family, I have two daughter who love to paint for their home, my dad and uncle were such artists, hubby and his sister, his uncle, etc. Thank you so much for sharing and for your sweet and kind visit to my house. Have a great week ahead.

Hi sweet Sarah! Oh, this is a wonderful piece of art! It's so different and fun! Love the colors she's used too!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for popping in to see me and I hope you've had a nice weekend.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
I cannot even imagine having that much creativity. What a wonderful art piece. After I read through your post, I went back to again marvel at all the wonderful details. Not a piece of art to view one time, but a piece to go back and view over and over, delighting over another detail each time. And how fun that frame is also art. Is her signature on the back of it? Your friend is really talented, and I enjoyed seeing this so much. laurie
ReplyDeleteI have wondered how people live without something in their lives they are passionate about! It's a must if one wants to really feel fulfilled! :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like you need to hop over to Paris for a bit! Can I come too?!
