Join me for a picnic along the bank of
the Frying Pan River in the mountains of Colorado.
I was recently a family guest at this beautiful property
situated on the Frying Pan River in Colorado.
It's spectacular looking up river . . .
With containers overflowing
with gorgeous blooms.
Or following the flowing river
as it flows downstream.
creates a mesmerizing sound and vision.
beautiful sight along the terrace . . .
As well as out on a small island that includes sitting
areas for a quiet spot to read or to gather for a chat.

It is among this beautiful setting that family gathered to celebrate
a milestone birthday, for the birthday girl requested a
casual family picnic on the lawn beside the river.
It was a perfect setting with the fresh mountain air and the
gentle sound of the water flowing down stream.
A delicious lunch catered by Joy Michelin
of Simply Joy included a casual menu.
Joy prepared a big bowl of pasta salad
and a plate of crudités . . .
Along with a large platter of beef sliders
and cucumber sandwiches.
The dessert table offered a choice of
iced cupcakes and a beautiful pound cake.
The delicious cupcakes were topped with sweet
pink cream icing and sprigs of Baby's Breath.
The bundt cake was moist and
refreshing decorated with fresh blooms.
The birthday girl made a wish
and blew out her candle.
Then she cut the cake and served the delicious
sweet ending to a perfect picnic.
Personally, I find this setting
to be a perfect slice of paradise.

What an absolutely gorgeous setting. The flowers, tables and food are beautiful. How fortunate you were to attend! But as a Missouri girl, I'm amazed at properties being that close to a river. Here, rivers rise and rage out of control with a big storm. Hope that doesn't happen in that area.
