With a mere 21 days until Valentine's Day,
I've teamed up with a talented group of friends
to offer a little Valentine's Day inspiration.
Welcome to the Valentine's Day Tablescape Blog Hop
Thank you to Rita, our amazingly organized and
talented leader and author of the beautiful Panoply Each account in this hop offers abundant inspiration for creating
your own holiday table and ambiance.
Links are at the end of this post.
If you buzzed over from Cecilia's Thrift Store Addiction,
I'm sure you were wowed by her thrifty find of vintage
Fire King Primrose. It took my breath away!
For my post, I opted to inspire you to make the day special
with a tea or coffee tray and special sweet treats.
My guy and I have been married for 46 years,
and at some point in time we began using "honey"
at times as an endearment with each other.
I never give it much thought,
but it prompted the theme for this post.
"Honey, bee my valentine!"
I used a linen tea towel from Crown Linen Design
as a drape on my large silver serving tray and
added ceramic details with pieces of MacKenzie-Childs.
Our MacKenzie-Childs Turkish tea or coffee pot
is a nod to my husband's military overseas
duty stationed in Izmir, Turkey.
The hand painted details and interesting
shapes makes these favorites.
An early valentine arrived on my birthday.
The perfect touch to hang from the tea pot lid.
Made from felt and hand stitched by my talented friend, photography of her gardens and food from her kitchen.
Cabbage Rose ~ Blooms, Stripes, and Dots
Heart shaped sugar spills from a petite sugar jar with matching creamer, both vintage MKC painted glass pieces from long ago.
What Valentine tray would be complete
without a few Conversation Hearts?
I filled a crystal and silver jam pot with Honey Bee candies. They are like lemon drops, but instead are honey.
They are a German candy.
I sprinkled a few Honey Bee candies about to echo the theme.
Off to the side is a
stand of more sweet treats.

Dearest Sarah,
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your 46th anniversary together.
LOVE that sweet photo of you both!
As for the honey bee German candies, they are only about 6% honey, mainly sugar and glucose syrup.
Wishing you both a Happy Valentine.
Hugs,
Mariette
Sarah, such a charming post. Love your vignette with the tulips. Your MKC collections always amaze me. Love the sweet bee theme. Monique made such a lovely felt heart, how special. What a sweet photo of you and Monnie. Honey candy is such a treat. A beautiful way to embrace Valentine's Day. Always a pleasure to join you.
ReplyDeleteSarah, this post really moves me. It's so full of your own personal history and romance, so beautiful. We also use the term honey, but pronounce it HON-knee with great emphasis on the HON, lol. 46 years is a beautiful life of love, of collecting treasures, of sharing life's ups and downs. I am so happy you are part of this hop to invite us in for a peek of your exquisite collections and style. Wishing you a beautiful Happy Valentine's season!
ReplyDeleteSo cute and whimsical Sarah! Love all the details especially the honey bee! We’re just a little behind you at 42 years!
ReplyDeleteI love how you honored your husband's service to our country with the M-C Turkish coffee pot. I also love the honey bee elements, too. The teacups under the cloche is a cute idea! But my very favorite elements are the M-C mini sugar pot with the heart-shaped sugars and heart-shaped spoon. I love them, Sarah! :D Very sentimental and special tablescape, Sarah. Thanks for sharing your creativity and your heart with us!
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's Day!
XO,
Ricki Jill
