The summer we married, my husband was in graduate school, and I was employed as a teacher. We took a portion of our savings that summer and purchased a sailboat. We christened our Catalina 22, “Hyacinths For The Soul” after Saadi’s poem. Our "Hyacinths" provided years of pleasure.

Cute post - and who doesn't enjoy going to Starbucks? Your sunflowers are so pretty, we don't have any of those blooms around here yet! Enjoy the rest of the summer!
ReplyDeleteSo cute Sarah..
ReplyDeleteCaroline introduced me to Starbucks and I think when someone you love ..loves it..well you love it:)
I indulge with her and her alone.
I love the Moka latte Light I think it's called..we sometimes drive through here..in Fl as soon as we walk into Target:)What a shopping experience for Canadians a Starbucks IN a Target♥
How cute, Sarah! I love your summertime routine. We walk very early and then I putter around the loft, reading, organizing (still!), and run errands mid-day. Great little giveaway for the many Starbucks fans out there! Miss Merri Mac might be a little jealous. ;)
ReplyDeleteOh Miss Merri Mac looks like a beauty queen holding her bouquet of flowers! Those sunflowers, swoon, I love love sunflowers, especially this time of year! You are smart to get out early and then relax inside, I do a similar routine except the other way around...in the morning on the coast it is quite still, I try to slip into the pool and swim laps around nine and then I'm inside until the breezes come up when I head out to the porch to paint and read. Yes, Summer is hot in Alabama and Texas but I wouldn't trade it for the Northern cold winters! As for Starbuck's, believe it or not, I have only gotten the occasional black coffee there...my daily cup of caffine is a Starbuck's pod in my Keurig, but I am going to try your favorite non fat coffee Frappacino soon! I love all your pretty and fun vignettes, and how nice of you to do a giveaway!
ReplyDeleteJenna
Sarah, your sunflowers are stunning all nestled into Miss Merri Mac, the color just pops. We are having similar summers, mostly home and inside. Our AL summer is hot, maybe not TX hot but hot with high humidity and most of the day I'm inside. I love my coffee early out on the veranda but no caffeine for me after lunch. Cute post and fun giveaway........
ReplyDeleteHi sweet Sarah! Your post a really put a smile on my face this morning! Sweetness among the beautiful. Hope you're doing well.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Glad to hear you and M are well and relaxing during the summertime heat. It can be stifling and staying inside during the midday hours is a must for me too. Your flowers look beautiful - so much color - ours have fried and died after such heat/drought.
ReplyDeleteWe had lovely cool/damp travels to old England and then to Ireland in May and June, and will be off to New England (NH, Maine & Vermont) in Aug. Early Oct. a big trip coming - more on that one another time. It will mean packing my special little bag of course!
I drink straight black Starbucks (a big mug) every morning here at home - buy whole beans and grind my own. Do love to stop at a Starbucks shop (we have 2 nearby) now and then for a special drink - especially a cold one - and often meet my BFF Jeannette there for a news catch up and a 'friendship coffee'.
Love and big hugs dear Sara - always fun to see you here X
Hi Sarah, I check your blog often but you don't post much anymore. I see you on Instagram.
ReplyDeleteVery cute post and my stepmom loves Frappuccinos. She has one everyday.
It's been a horrible humid summer in NJ. One reason I have a love hate relationship with the season.
Stay cool
Cindy

ReplyDeleteI had to show your creative blog post! Miss Merri Mac is so proudly and elegantly holding the bouquet of flowers! I adore sunflowers, and my first one bloomed two days ago. I'll be sharing the story on my next blog post. You are smart to get out early and then relax inside and stay cool. I start my morning with Starbucks in my Keurig, and nothing compares. I must have my Starbucks! Very kind of you to offer the Starbucks cards. Please count me in! xo
ReplyDelete(Sorry I had to delete my previous comment....I am tired from the Heart and Cheryl Crow concert last evening, and made typos)
So happy you enjoy Starbucks. We are HUGE Starbucks supporters. When we were in Scottsdale last fall, we heard about the Arizona State University and Starbucks' joint program for college students. Shelley was intrigued, so during Christmas, Shelley applied to work at Starbucks and she got the job! She then applied to ASU and was accepted. She works twenty hours per week, and Starbucks pays her entire tuition. She is LOVING it!!!
ReplyDeleteI'll share this post with Shelley. This will make her smile!
Enjoy the rest of your summer, and stay cool!
xo,
RJ
I have never had a cup of coffee in my life- I had a sip once and didn't like it.
ReplyDeleteI'm an iced tea girl.
I love MissMerri Mac
I love Starbucks iced tea. It's hot and humid in the South but you get used to it and carry on. It doesn't stop me from working in my yard but I've sure wasted a lot of money on flowers this year that couldn't cope. A Starbucks break would be nice.
ReplyDeleteI love Miss Merri Mac filled with blooms Sarah! When I was working 60+ hours a week in my retail career I was a hardcore Starbucks addict. I needed the caffeine jolt twice a day. I weaned myself once I retired and traded my SB addiction for a dish one. ;) Stay cool in this heat and humidity. ♥
ReplyDeleteYour summertime vignettes are so darling with Miss Merri Mac as the centerpiece! I am not a Starbucks person, Sarah for coffee, but I do like their chai tea!! Stay cool in our Texas heat! 😎🌻😎
ReplyDeleteCan you just tuck me in Ms Merri Mac and take me along on all these adventures...Lots of fun here, and she sure looks good, wherever she is!
ReplyDeleteMiss Mary Mac looks stunning filled with beautiful blooms! Love the variety of flowers.
ReplyDeleteMy husband is a big Starbucks fan and wherever we visit he plans hotels near a Starbucks if he can. I have to limit my caffeine so no Starbucks for me.
It has been a hot and humid summer but I'm with Jenna about it being better than frigid winters.
Your enthusiasm about enjoying your coffee was fun reading about. Little pleasures are special.
Have a great week.
Sarah, what a delightful post. Miss Merri Mac looks fabulous with those glorious sunflowers. How bright and cheery. Love your little bees. You always create the best vignettes. Starbucks is great. Now and then, I treat myself. I love vanilla lattes plus more. I am sure tons of calories, but so worth it. Very generous of you to offer the giveaway. Stay cool dear Sarah.
ReplyDeleteDearest Sarah,
ReplyDeleteOh no, we both have never ever been a fan of Starbucks coffee... it is one of the ugliest tastes and so bitter.
We drink our green tea in the afternoon with a bowl of mixed, unsalted nuts.
Coffee for breakfast only with a little bit of Dutch cocoa added for taste and for health purposes.
Sending you hugs,
Mariette
PS Guess once every two years we have to deal with the blogs not showing in the side line... Mine is gone now. Hate to deal with that once in a while, for checking the Feedburner...
Anything with tons of ice, or an ice cream drink for me! I couldn't do the European way with warm water. Miss Merrie Mac makes everything beautiful. I love hearing about your daily Starbucks routine. I like their hot chocolate, but not at this time of year, unless I happened to be camping. Enjoy every minute of the summer as it is flying by.
ReplyDeleteStay cool friend. I would love to try some Starbucks iced coffees. Like you I am staying close to home this summer, for a recent summer fun thing, see my current blog post about my niece visiting us. She is a fun person.
