The summer we married, my husband was in graduate school, and I was employed as a teacher. We took a portion of our savings that summer and purchased a sailboat. We christened our Catalina 22, “Hyacinths For The Soul” after Saadi’s poem. Our "Hyacinths" provided years of pleasure.

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post on this Mothers Day! I know your Mom is elderly & ailing but I hope you got to speak to her today, even if it is long distance.
Your tray with all the lavender items looks wonderful. We don't seem to "get" a lot of lavender around here. I guess its the wrong climate. Rarely ever see it for sale anywhere & I've never cooked with it.
Wish we could sit & share a cuppa that tea & split a scone together.

I can't think of a more soothing, and fragrant thing than lavendar. It is so lovely growing and so highly scented. A lavendare oil bath is such a treat. Fortunately, I can grow it here quite well. Your tea looks like a lovely way to spend Mother's Day. Joni
