Whooo's Ready for Halloween?

Whooo ~ Whooo
Whooo's ready for Halloween?

Welcome, friends! ~ You are in for a
Hootin' Good Time!
A big thank you to Rita @Panoply
who gathered a group of bloggers to share some
fun ideas for setting a tabletop for Halloween.
A list with links of all sharing in this
hop is at the end of this post.

Last year I set a non-traditional Halloween table
that could take us through the autumn season
without screaming Halloween.

Cast a Festive Spell Among Falling Leaves
Click here to see details of that table.

This October I decided to have
a little whimsical fun.

If you follow along here, you know the love
we feel for our sweet Sadie Mercedes.

This group of tricksters were in clearance at Tuesday Morning
one year, and the whimsy touched my dog loving heart
and had me adding them into my cart.

Along with these cute salt and peppers, that were a gift,
an idea was sparked for a whimsical
Halloween table for Sadie.

I gathered up Sadie's stash of Halloween
toys to grab her interest.

I filled her doggie bowl with yummy treats!

I created a table runner with this cute
Halloween doggie tricksters kitchen towel and
elevated her bowl with a stack of fun dishes from the cupboard.

With everything atop a classic
orange and black buffalo check tablecloth,
Sadie had her own
Halloween Treat Table.

Our sweet Sadie jumped right up
and went straight for the treats.
No spooking this girl!

Thank you for joining me.  I hope my
silly, whimsical idea brought a little smile.

These little doggies are just
Too Cute to Spook!

Wishing everyone a
Whimsical Happy Halloween!

The summer we married, my husband was in graduate school, and I was employed as a teacher. We took a portion of our savings that summer and purchased a sailboat. We christened our Catalina 22, “Hyacinths For The Soul” after Saadi’s poem. Our "Hyacinths" provided years of pleasure.

  1. Sarah, what a fun and clever idea! Your Sadie is one very lucky pup! Whiskey is snuggled up next to me as I write this, and I gotta make sure he doesn’t see or he’ll be very jealous. Wow, I knew you had a lot of MC to swoon over, but a dog bowl too?! And, what adorable doggie toys you have my dear! You’ve inspired me to go pick up a few for Whiskey. Really, really cute Sarah. Wishing you a most happy Halloween.

  2. Sarah, I thought from your title you would have an Owl-oween themed table, but Lola and Sophie were not disappointed and give it 4 paws up! It’s all so wicked cute from the adorable towel, mix of toys and treats and checks. I so miss Tuesday Morning, your canine collection is dog-gone cute and I have pillow envy as it looks like it could be a relative of Lola and Sophie. Happy hopping with you! ♥

  3. We do love our furry babies don't we? I am right along with Debbee as my little 5 pound Jesse James (he is the little bandit that 'stole' our hearts about 12 years ago) is laying on my lap as we speak. Your table is so inviting and Jesse James would like to have been invited, but the next best thing is viewing your M-C setting from afar. Thank you for joining our group of table stylists and animal lovers today! Have a blessed day!

  4. Sarah, what a fun party for Sadie and for us, as well! This is such a cute idea and all of your details make it a party for everyone who loves fur babies. You have the loveliest MKC collection that I so enjoy seeing how you style tables and vignettes. Our local Tuesday Morning closed and it sure upset my shopping. I could always find something that would jump in my cart! It is fun hopping with you and Happy Tuesday!

Sarah, I love how Sadie's outfit matches everything and the beautiful needlepoint cushion completes the setting in the most lovely way. Brava, Sweet Friend!

  9. I'm sure Sadie enjoyed her Halloween treat! If she's anything like my labs she excitedly watched the whole thing come together. All the dogs decked out in their Halloween finery are too cute for words, as are the adorable pup toys. I'm grinning from ear to ear!

  17. Oh my goodness, what a delightfully creative and fun table for Miss Mercedes (and her person, no doubt)! Sarah, this is truly cute. All the little pups came out for this celebration. I wondered if Mercedes sniffed the guests as though to say, "it's all mine, eat your heart out, kids"? Her toys, the towel runner, and that pillow most definitely demonstrate your love for her. Adorable! Thank you for adding a fun twist to our Halloween tablescapes!

  18. As always your decor is fabulous dear Sarah. I haven't really started yet (trouble with pain in right leg and having PT) but will work on the front steps/porch today as the sun is out at last. Bought pumpkins at the weekend when we actually got out and enjoyed a country drive, and some pots of mums yesterday - they are all awaiting outside the window!
Hope life is good and you, M and Sadie are doing well.
    Hugs - Mary

  20. Hi Sarah, I saw your post come up while I was traveling and wanted to wait until we got back to thoroughly enjoy all the details. Sweet Sadie must love this! The doggie trick or treaters are adorbs, and your creativity is overflowing! I need to pull out my Halloween decor, and if you can believe it, there were no homes decorated for Halloween where we vacationed. In New York, we go all out :-) You should see my next door neighbor’s house.

  21. Oh Sarah....my heart is melting. How absolutely precious. Sadie's own tablescape! What a special girl. I love how you put it all together with some fun pieces. Such adorable salt and pepper shakers. Even Sadie is in the Halloween mood with her gorgeous striped sweater. She has her own placemat and plate stack! Now she is in a party mood. Have a fun and furry Halloween!

  22. Sarah, what a fun idea to set a table just for your dog! I loved seeing Sadie in her costume seated at the table, ready for her treats. My golden retriever, Mardi, is on the couch next to me right now. Our dogs are such important family members! I love the kitchen towel with the dogs in costumes that you used as a table runner. And who knew MacKenzie-Childs makes dog bowls with her signature check pattern? It all looks so fun and adorable! It was lovely to hop with you. Happy Halloween!

  25. Oh my heart!! I absolutely love your whimsical table inspired by. your sweet Sadie! Her stuffy collection looks a lot like our Dasher and Tripper's!! Love the pillow. That is really special. I love how you created the table runner with the trickster dog kitchen towel. Layered over the orange and black Buffalo check really makes it pop!
