Into The Blue

Life has recently taken me

off into the wild blue yonder.



So I thought I'd share a few shots

of my blue and white collection.


Cool and calming,

blue offers a respite to my day.


A favorite color here at HFTS,

blue can offer both serenity and exhilaration.



In some cultures, many

believe that blue keeps bad spirits away.


White is the perfect compliment.


So I frequently fill a few

pieces with with white blooms.



Perfection in my mind.


The combination is timeless and unmatched.





Blue and white ~ a constant in my life.

The summer we married, my husband was in graduate school, and I was employed as a teacher. We took a portion of our savings that summer and purchased a sailboat. We christened our Catalina 22, “Hyacinths For The Soul” after Saadi’s poem. Our "Hyacinths" provided years of pleasure.

    Blue and white has been a staple in the many houses that I've made home over the years. Nothing freshens, nothing soothes, nothing inspires me like this combination.
    I enjoyed the glimpses of blue and white in your house.

    Your blue and white pieces are absolutely gorgeous. I love your vignette. Using the platter and bowls, vases and then the precious dog all lifted to varying heights with the books and the lamp.     Sarah, Your blue and white is so classic and elegant. I love your use of ivy and ferns with it. I think the green with the white hydrangea makes the blue and white pop and gives a clean, fresh look. Your b&w dogs are so cute. Love the one with her little puppy in front.

    I love the freshness of blue and white. Growing up, my room was decorated in orange and browns. A friend had blues and whites -- I loved it. Even though I love it, I have never had any in my home. (Well, I do have some dishes). Joni

    The weather has been beautiful here. Clear and crisp, cool at night, and high 70's! Perfect ! Went to WS/PB outlet yesterday. Nothing, and no one in the store. No good sales. I don't know what is happening to them!
