Tea on Tuesdays
It finally feels like autumn
here in Austin, and I'm celebrating!
It's pleasantly cool, so come join me in
this comfy corner of the garden.
The adorable Coral and Tusk Orchard pillow is new this season.
Always looking to add a touch of whimsy, this clever pocket
pillow with animal friends picking fresh fruit
seemed the perfect nod to autumn.
Help yourself to an orange cranberry tea scone
or a pumpkin spice Madeleine.
Both are delicious choices
and not too sweet.
Trust me, they are delicious! Have one or two or three!
I like to add a slice of lemon to my tea,
but you might prefer a lump or two of sugar.
A blogging friend, Donna @ Conghaile Cottage,
introduced me to this transfer ware many years ago.
The pattern is Furnivals, Brown Quail, made in England.
I find the pattern charming for fall.
Note the acorn finial!
The fat, fluffy quail delight!
Mignonne Gavigan designs premiered.
I selected the Quintessential Quail and the Butterfly Beauties.
or in this case, on my teatime tray.
a pleasant autumn season!

The summer we married, my husband was in graduate school, and I was employed as a teacher. We took a portion of our savings that summer and purchased a sailboat. We christened our Catalina 22, “Hyacinths For The Soul” after Saadi’s poem. Our "Hyacinths" provided years of pleasure.

Oh Sarah, I adore your tea setting on your garden terrace…there are so many wonderful details to take in! My mom’s everyday pattern is Furnivals Quail in blue. Love the brown for fall and the darling Bauble Stockings you paired for your flatware. I love the whimsy of the orchard pillow with the pocket animals…you find so many wonderful things! So many drool-worthy details with your majolica serving pieces, beautiful petit fours (too pretty to eat!) and gorgeous blooms! We’re so happy you could join us for tea today! Wishing you a wonderful week and fall weather ahead. 🍂🍁🧡
ReplyDeleteSarah, I sound like a broken record saying how much I love your attention to detail. I see so many lovely details on your teatime tray in your garden. The orchard pillow is darling with its pocket animals. Your autumn treats look delicious. I will take one of each, or maybe two 😊 I love the transferware pattern, it is perfect for fall. The Bauble Stockings are so sweet with the pretty napkins and flatware tucked inside. It is always a pleasure for you to join us for Tea On Tuesdays. Enjoy the cooler weather, my friend 🍂🧡🍁
ReplyDeleteAhh, Sarah, yet more collectibles you're sharing today. I am continuously in awe of your selections, and the Furnival Brown Quail transferware and Bauble stockings are beautiful additions, as is that adorable pocket pillow. It seems such a shame your garden was basically a hothouse from June through September, but I suppose it makes it all that much sweeter to have these October days to enjoy. Happy Tuesday Tea Time!
ReplyDeletePetits fours..I love them..never find any and I find making them a mess lol. That pillow is superb.Lovely vignettes Sarah:)
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Sarah! Your entire tea setting is gorgeous! Your autumn china is so pretty, and I am swooning over all of your beautiful green majolica pieces. I am always drawn to your special Bauble Stockings, so perfect for holding flatware, and they look so pretty on your tray. The whimsical pillow animals picking fruit makes me smile~thank you for a lovely tea party today!
