An Apple for the Teacher

Apples
This post was first published
September 2013, but the topic is timeless.

Although many schools in Texas begin
a new school year in late August,
I always associate September with
 Back To School.

An Apple For The Teacher
My table is a tribute to teachers everywhere.

APPLES

Apples, apples, what a treat,
sweet and tart and good to eat.
Apples green and apples red,
hang from branches overhead,
and when they ripen, down they drop,
so we can taste our apple crop.

The summer we married, my husband was in graduate school, and I was employed as a teacher. We took a portion of our savings that summer and purchased a sailboat. We christened our Catalina 22, “Hyacinths For The Soul” after Saadi’s poem. Our "Hyacinths" provided years of pleasure.

Love your plate stack and beautiful vintage pearl handled flatware. That plate is a treasured gift I am sure.
I never would have known those apples were faux. They look so real.
That pie looks homemade and on your MC plate is fabulous!

  9. Sarah, this is outstanding! A+ for the nod to teacher's table! Oh my, I love the ceramic plate and that quilt!
While I realize many are saying summer flew by, I honestly can't believe how quickly September alone is passing. Within the last two days our hills are suddenly showing some color, most likely due to heat and lack of water, but nonetheless, it's starting to look like fall. It's still very, very hot here in WV, and I suppose it goes without saying that it's hot in TX, I know.
