The summer we married, my husband was in graduate school, and I was employed as a teacher. We took a portion of our savings that summer and purchased a sailboat. We christened our Catalina 22, “Hyacinths For The Soul” after Saadi’s poem. Our "Hyacinths" provided years of pleasure.

Ann Estelle is adorable in her robe. I'll bet she appeals to the little girl in many of us.

  9. Happy ME Monday Sarah...thanks so much for sharing your charming posts with us. You have some really charming ME tins that even I have not seen. Don't you just love hearts?
I remember many years ago driving through the countryside from MN to Wisconsin. It was somewhere out there that I saw the sign for Midwest Importers plant and thought "well that's where they're located".

  15. What a wonderful Valentine post. It brought back memories of a long time ago. I remember in elementary school, making "mail boxes" from shoe boxes. Decorating them with crepe paper and red contruction paper hearts. Then on Valentines day, everyone would place there mail bo on their desk and everyone would place Valentines in them.....
    Hugs,
    Penny

  28. Love ME! She has such a talent and has created such endearing characters! I hope we have a very lovely time together - with my husband being a preacher I have learned I will always have to share his time - but, when we make time for each other - it is very special!
Hope you have a marvelous Valentines!

  29. What a beautiful collection of vintage items. I love all of your tins. I am especially fond of heart shaped containers.
We usually will celebrate on the weekend before to avoid the crowds and the high prices. I already gave him a big box of Godiva chocolates which we have enjoyed for a week now (but so did my little 4 year old grandson who saw them and grabbed a few - way too sophisticated for him!)
