It's no secret that I've a passion 

for ceramics, and ones in blue and white 

have always been favorites.





So why not join the March 

Blue and White Bash @ The Pink Pagoda









Cool and calming, blue and white

offers a respite to our daily life.




Providing positive vibes  

 for both mind and body   .   .   .   





A touch of tranquility to our day  .    .   .






And joyful inspiration.





In some cultures, many believe

 that blue and white keeps bad spirits away. 





For me .   .   .

 it makes my heart sing.





Fills my 

 day with joy!





Sometimes I like a

  punch of pink

 to add a touch of sass.




 But most often it's white blooms

 that fill my blue and white.




 The combination 

 is timeless and unmatched.

The summer we married, my husband was in graduate school, and I was employed as a teacher. We took a portion of our savings that summer and purchased a sailboat. We christened our Catalina 22, “Hyacinths For The Soul” after Saadi’s poem. Our "Hyacinths" provided years of pleasure.

    Oh, my Sarah! This is so beautiful. You have lovely blue and white pieces and I see that little blue and white Staffy dog peeping in at me! :) Yes, I could have lived with blue and white. My last houses living room was mostly blue and my kitchen was yellow and blue! I still love blue.

    Sarah, I think you know i share your passion for blue and white, and like you, I live with it daily... in Chinese porcelain, in fabric, in quilts, in our Mottahedeh Canton dishes, and even my clothes! I have navy and white striped espadrilles, blue and white striped shirts, etc. Uh, can you say addicted?

    As to yours, you know I love it, especially with pops of pink. I love how you layered it there. When I was arrangements chair for the League a million years ago in the 80's, I used blue and white double happiness jars filled with roses, pink sweetheart vine aka coral vine, berries, yard garbage, etc. for centerpieces for a luncheon and sold them like hot cakes. I bought several for myself because I wanted the jars! Good excuse, no? ;-)

    I need to check out that book. I have been reading Mario Buatta's book (which is so heavy I can't lift it), and I always think of him when I think of Chinese porcelain... and you! I will have to check out this party later.

    Actually, I do have a lot of blue and white, only mine isn't the cobalt blue but the aqua blue of French opaline glass. (It's like milk glass, so it's opaque, only it's a glorious shade of aqua/turquoise.) I've been collecting it for a long time, and just seeing a few pieces on the mantle or in the china cupboard in the dining room always makes me smile. As you say, nothing like blue for soothing the frazzled soul! My favourite is a bunch of white tulips in the turquoise glass vase I found many years ago. I usually spring for a bunch of white tulips after Christmas, as an antidote to all the red and green everywhere.

    I love the combination of blue and white.

    I am looking for ideas for changing up our bedroom and I am going with blue and white. I haven't found a new comforter/duvet cover yet, but I think I want blue and white stripes.

    I have not been too much of a fan of blue and white but it is growing on me. We found a lovely, french, blue and white candlestick for the booth. We have had a booth at the Knitting Mill for the last 6 months and are having a ball. Have a wonderful week.

    Very pretty, Sarah. I've never seen blue and white planters and I think the organic feel mixed with the elegant porcelain is beautiful. I love those white flowers but can't figure out what they are. A type of geranium?

    Gorgeous Blue & White Sarah and perfect for the winter blues! We were in the 70s on Sunday and are now back down to the 20s again with wind chill in the teens. I hope you're better off than Dallas with all the terrible traffic snarls and weather.

    I do not live with blue and white, although I have seen its appeal since I was a girl. I had a friend whose room was blue and white, while my bedroom featured orange and brown. I loved hers. I love the white blooms in the blue and white. Joni

    Blue and white is a classic combination, and your collection contains truly classic pieces that will never go out of style.

    Currently, I am gathering samples of blue and white fabrics in order to recover my living room and breakfast room pieces. It is so hard to choose because I like so many!

    We are still in a deep freeze this week. The pear trees were all "bit" by the freeze (in the teens), and their blossoms have turned to brown. Sigh...sad to see.

    I understand your connection to blue & white's tranquility and joy!
    Once we arrived on this side of the Prairie, I contained the blue & white to a Guest Room.
    With our arid climate and extreme heat, we see hues of brown outside. I've added warmer tones and more vibrant colors to our home. I am,, however adding more touches of aqua with gray hues and loving the tranquility that it brings!
    Your collection of blue & white is truly, timeless and classic!!! Exquisite!

    Beautiful! You have given me an idea with the copper near it -- really pretty. I am adding some more blue and white to my foyer, but am waiting for additional disc hangers. the bay window area is a lovely spot to group it.

    I kinda lost many of my blue and white bits along the way - although I loved it, I just didn't have room for so much china - probably sold it when I was at SuzAnna's! I do have a few antique transferware platters on the dresser, mixed with grey and white, brown and white etc.

    Now I'm in a 'blue mood' with my decor so am looking for some old dark blue glass pieces, large bottles etc. to put on that dining room sideboard……..once I get around to painting it dark blue!!!!!

    Beautiful! :) I have my grandmother's old blue and white transferware and love it, and when I was young the china ( not really good china, but nice for holidays ) was blue and white as well : ) It's so pretty in dishes...I love your display and pretty flowers :)

    Yes, I live with blue and white. I find myself calming as I come home to a room decorated with this favourite combination. I like to add a little yellow, pink or red depending on the season, but blue and white are always the foundation.

    We don't have a lot of blue and white, but we did receive a beautiful porcelain blue and white ginger jar lamp as a wedding gift, and I still love it today! It's in our master bedroom.

    I love all of your blue and white ceramics. I was in Ross last night and came across a few flower pots.
