Turkey Time Will Soon Be Here




The clock is ticking!
Turkey Day will soon be here.

Our home is filled with the
rich warm tones of the season.

As is tradition,
we will host Thanksgiving Dinner
here for friends and family.

~ Autumn ~
My Favorite Season

~ Rusty Reds ~

~ Mixed with Greens ~

~ Neutrals ~ Shades of Brown ~

~ Amber and Aubergine ~

~ Acorns and Falling Leaves ~

~ Harvest Elegance ~ 

Last year our menu 
included pheasant and a selection
of healthy side dishes.

Of course there
were also lots of sweet treats.

~ Mini Pies ~
~ Apple ~ Pumpkin ~ Pecan ~

Mugs of
~ Irish Coffee ~

It was a warm Texas evening, 
and we dined outside on the terrace.


This year is cold and wet.
I'm scurrying around to set
tables inside where it is warm and cozy.

I'm not sure what 
I'm doing on my tables just yet,
but I'm certain to include these warm, rich, colors.

The summer we married, my husband was in graduate school, and I was employed as a teacher. We took a portion of our savings that summer and purchased a sailboat. We christened our Catalina 22, “Hyacinths For The Soul” after Saadi’s poem. Our "Hyacinths" provided years of pleasure.

    Sarah, I would be thrilled to be a guest at your table, inside or out. Your food last year looks mouth-watering! Our temperatures took a nose dive, it was 78 degrees Monday and will 19 degrees tomorrow morning...brrr! It does make it seem more seasonal which is fitting with arrival of the Christmas season! Happy Thanksgiving to you and doggie kisses for sweet Sadie :)

    Sarah - there is so much "eye candy" here! Those desserts look so good and all of the tableware that you chose is so lovely. I, especially, like those wonderful green tassel napkin rings - wow. Happy Thanksgiving!

    Every picture is beautiful..Those pheasants on your table have my mouth watering..I am sure your tables will be wonderful with all of your colors and choices..We are supposed to be pretty cold this year but at least the sun is going to shine...

    Wow! Your Thanksgiving decor is so pretty, and I love the individual desserts! Mugs of Irish coffee? I'll take two!!! :D I really hope your family and friends appreciate your efforts (I'm sure they do)!

    I just took down my Thanksgiving decor because we're going to my mom's for Thanksgiving. I have all my Christmas up except for the tree. I can't wait until net Sunday because we're making Advent wreaths in Sunday School. I've never made one before! ;P

    I am also hosting again after a few years of not doing so, and I really am looking forward to it. I have all my past menus saved since 1979 when I took over hosting for our family form my sister. It was fun looking trough them again today.

    I'm glad you stopped by and told me that your posts weren't being updated…I just caught up on what I have missed!! Love the dinnerware you used for your Beef Bourg….I imagine they can also be mixed and matched with MC?? Just gorgeous. As for your post updates…once someone wrote about their RSS feed (which I know nothing about) and said it had nothing to do with blogger, but rather RSS) I don't know if that means anything to you…but I didn't understand it…..Maybe do another post asking for help??

    Such lovely autumnal settings, Sarah! Right down to the smallest detail...just perfect!
    The foods from other years look luscious..I don't think I've ever eaten pheasant, but I bet ANYTHING would taste magnificent eaten at your beautiful tables.

    I saw & heard about your cold, wet weather. Welcome to MY world! LOL

    I know it will all be beautiful and delicious, Sarah. My tables are set with the exception of centerpieces and some tweaking. I am thinking of using dried hydrangea blooms and deep pink camellias, both of which I have.
