The summer we married, my husband was in graduate school, and I was employed as a teacher. We took a portion of our savings that summer and purchased a sailboat. We christened our Catalina 22, “Hyacinths For The Soul” after Saadi’s poem. Our "Hyacinths" provided years of pleasure.

    Sarah, I feel as if I've had a mini-tour of your house! You have some wonderful pieces. I especially love the photo of all the plants in the sunny window. And what a great idea to store the flatware with decorative handles in crocks! They're often too large to fit easily in drawers, so this solution is practical as well as decorative!

    This is a such a beautiful post. I love the mustard pots with the fresh flowers, the flatware in all the little crocks, and all the blue and white transferware pieces. This is why I could never go all white. I love color.

    Wow, Sarah! You have some gorgeous containers. I have always had a weakness for brown transferware, and I don't own any! Your blue and white pieces are so pretty, but my favorite is your King Ferry butter house by MacKenzie-Childs. It is stunning! I love the butter house in that particular pattern.
