Austin Skyline In The Distance
I know ~
it's been more than a month.
Thank you to all who reached out
to check in with me.
Lake Austin
I spent two glorious weeks in France
in September, and since returning home
I've been focused on family and friends.
I promise I will share about my time in Paris soon.
A very creative friend recently hosted a
small get together in honor of
two friends with October birthdays.
It took this
frightfully delightful table
to spark a new post.

I enjoyed catching up with you today--can't wait to hear about France. The photo of Austin's skyline is stunning. Love the antlers over the fireplace--the photo gave me an idea for my antlers (a neutral wall rather than dark panels). The food photos are magnificent. What a delightful party! Glad you're home and partying with us at Foodie Friday!

Two weeks in France!! Lucky you!! That view is amazing at your friend's house and what a creative spread of food.
ReplyDeleteThe fingers look a bit too real for me :(
love the bats in Austin..looks like a fun party!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun party! LOVE the deviled eggs and cheese straw fingers. LOL, did anyone claim the lost "dentures" on the drinks tray? Thanks for the recipes and fun post.
ReplyDeleteWow, wow, wow!!! Your friend definitely was born with that creative gene we so often speak of! The food (especially the cheese straw fingers!!!) looks good despite its decided creepiness, and as long as the drinks keep comin' I'm sure everyone could overlook that! :-)
ReplyDeleteThe skull with its teeth sunk into the tray is a really cool look. Your friend gets extra points for that one!
I'm glad you enjoyed your trip across the drink, and I look forward to hearing about your adventures. Also glad you've had time since your return to just relax with friends and family. I'm sure you needed to rest up from your vacation. Funny how that happens!
Enjoy your weekend!
Dearest Sarah,
ReplyDeleteWelcome back home!
Looking forward to your posting about Paris.
Tomorrow I will start posting about our week in Arizona.
Sending you hugs,
Mariette

Those cheese straw fingers are hilarious! What a bunch of fun food! I have been away from the blog a lot too. But nothing as exciting as Paris! What a lovely time of year to visit. I know it was wonderful. We are still waiting for a good visit with out of state friends who were there in September as well. I'm sure you brought back lovely things!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful picture of the Austin skyline. Your friend's party was done so nicely. Love the different food accents- very creative and fun! Going to France would be such a treat- I bet you have lots of great memories.
ReplyDeleteI missed you Sarah and I have been away to France also. Can't wait to see your pictures and hear about your trip. It makes me feel better to know everyone can't travel, blog and not miss a beat.
ReplyDeleteI also thought your blog was not updating because so many of my thumbnails are not. My entire blog list disappeared and it is back but not fixed entirely. I still haven't had time to deal with it as I should.
Enjoyed this post. This was an amazing birthday celebration. Lovely presentations and fun theme.
Focusing on family and friends are important. I have been doing the same. Wish I was superwoman and could do it all.
We went to Paris, Burgundy, Dordogne and Bordeaux. Looking forward to your posts on your trip.

ps. I absolutely love seeing all this creative food, still looks yummy too.
Welcome home! I don't even have to ask if you had a wonderful adventure in France, a country so full of things to see and do. Celebrating life with friends, well, it doesn't get better than that.

ReplyDeleteSarah,
ReplyDeleteYour friend's house and setting are absolutely stunning! I know exactly which bluff this is in Austin. When we lived there, I would look up at the houses on that cliff and wonder about who lived there. So, thanks for giving me an inside peek at a house setting that I've enjoyed from afar for years.
I'm so glad you had a good time on your French trip and am looking forward to all your pictures.
Judith
Hi Sarah! I have missed you but I'm so glad to hear you wee traveling and having such a wonderful time! Can't wait to see snaps. Oh the birthday celebration for your friends looks wonderful! The food and decorations are so cute. Her home looks gorgeous too! Oh, how I miss Austin. My hubby used to have an office there and I would go with him occasionally. Looking forward to reading about your trip. I don't get online much during the summer and and just now catching up with some of my favorite blogs. Have a blessed week!
ReplyDeleteHow glorious to have had 2 weeks in France! I can't wait to hear about it.
ReplyDeleteLooks like it was a fun, fun party! So fun when people get creative. I love the missing teeth! Better check to see that I still have mine!
Have a fun Halloween.
I have missed you Sarah! So glad to hear you were just in France. Wonderful ideas here!! Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteSarah, your friend put a lot of thought and effort (deviled eggs!) into this Halloween/birthday luncheon...everything looks spooktacular! ♥♥♥ the cheese board with the skull watching over the chopped fingers...
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week.
Oh Sarah, those teeth just cracked me up! What a fun party that must have been. She certainly got into the Halloween spirit. I'm loving her tile countertop and backsplash. Your photos of the Austin skyline are beautiful. Can't wait to see your photos from your trip to France. I had a wonderful time with my friends in Dallas, although Susie didn't get to go this year. She's in Scotland and then going to Italy. laurie

Looks like a wonderfully fun October birthday party. Love the blue stems and the teeth on the tray. I pinned the spider decorated cheese and crackers - they look frightfully delicious! I have been thinking a lot about Paris and how much fun it would be to go there lately. Maybe I can travel vicariously through your blog when you post about your trip.
