Tea On Tuesday in My Garden

I'm joining Pam and Mary for their monthly
Tea on Tuesday!
May continues full speed ahead and fortunately has
been pleasantly cool with much needed rainfall.

Life is busy with gardening, stitching, and time with friends.

I'm always honored to join my friends
Pam and Mary for Tea on Tuesdays.
You will find links to their beautiful tea time posts below.

Today I'm enjoying a little tea time in the relatively new
small garden space that I've been enjoying here at home.

A recent antiquing trip with my Dish Sisters
yielded a perfect little tea for one table.
Bamboo motif no less!

We created this little space some time ago, and I've long wanted
to add a little garden furniture so I could sit and enjoy tea or coffee.

I can look across from this spot and see
my neighbor's huge magnolia trees.
They are beginning to bloom, and Molly
graciously allows me to snip a few blooms to enjoy.

You can see above how the blooms
start very tight, but once they begin to open.
magnolia blooms do not last long.
Their scent is intoxicating,
almost a lemony sweet frgrance.

I like to cut the blooms when they are still tight
because within hours they will be fully open.

This morning's tea is Canton Rose by Louis Sherry.
The black tea is delicately scented with Damask rose petals,
and blackberry leaves packaged within delicate pyramid tea bags.

I steeped the tea in one of my "tea for one" petite teapots,
vintage William Adams, Sheffield, England.
Made of silver plate, this little charmer is likely from the 1940s.
I filled the mustard pot with petite sugar cubes
for those who like to sweeten their tea.

The small cheese puffs, which I pick up from a local bakery,
are called pao de queijo, the most common bread in Brazil.
The slightly sweet scone is Trader Joe's
delicious vanilla bean scone.

I have a set of six of these delicate petite
cups and saucers that were gifted to me by a friend.
They had been her grandmother's,
and she thought I would enjoy using them.
They are very old and indeed special!
The soft pink linens were a wedding gift,
now over 50 years old.

Savoring a cup of tea on my own,
is for me, a daily ritual.

I'm very pleased to have found the perfect petite
table and chair for my garden space.

Thank you for joining me
for tea in my garden.

The summer we married, my husband was in graduate school, and I was employed as a teacher. We took a portion of our savings that summer and purchased a sailboat. We christened our Catalina 22, “Hyacinths For The Soul” after Saadi’s poem. Our "Hyacinths" provided years of pleasure.
