Hop, Hop, Hop Into Spring! ~ Spring Tablescape Blog Hop

~ Hop ~ Hop ~ Hop ~
Welcome to our Spring Tablescape Blog Hop.

Once again, a big shout out and thank you
to our leader, and hostess,
 Rita @ Panoply
the lady who keeps us organized and on track.
We have 16 tabletop stylists joining the hop today.
Links are at the bottom of this post.

Mountain Laurel's are dripping in purple blooms,
Texas Redbuds are bursting with delicate pink flowers,
and Bluebonnets are popping up in great numbers.
The temps have been unusually warm since late February.
The snow and ice of January left the garden looking sad,
but things are beginning to grow, and the fresh green
growth is a welcome sight indeed!

We are still weeks away from Easter, so my table may transition several times before because I like to play with dishes.
Today's table is set for four, a ladies lunch.

Each day, I look at the beautiful Texas Redbuds bursting with their charming, delicate pink blooms, and they are my inspiration for today's feminine and fanciful table set with Williams Sonoma Famille Rose porcelain.

We have an oval, gate leg table in our dining room, and I
most often just use a natural runner down the center
with individual placemats at each setting.  Today, I used a MacKenzie-Childs Courtly Check runner atop a
natural linen runner from my favorite dealer, Arte Italica.

This plate stack rests on a lavender petal velvet
placemat by Arte Italica, made in Ukraine.
The color and elegant floral design are a nod to the Asian inspired traditional Chinese porcelain dinners and salads in the Famille Rose pattern from Williams Sonoma.
Pewter chargers are by Arte Italica.

Here is the lime green version.

Take a closer look at the plate stack details so you can focus on how the layers of textures, colors, and various materials
lend interest and beauty to each person's placesetting.

These carrot inspired treat bags were purchased years ago,  perfect to use on spring tables as flatware and napkin holders.
Antique silver flatware with mother of pearl handles are faves.
Use collected pieces for added texture, interest, and fun!
Spring plaid napkins were chosen because I love plaids all year.
Remember to have fun with your tables!

Speaking of fun, I added this little
blue birdie just for a touch of whimsy.
It's vintage Mark Roberts.

Glassware is our tried and true Arte Italica pewter wine stems and iconic La Rochere Bee motif glasses for water.

Each place setting has MacKenzie-Childs faux spring blooms within egg shapes and a small chocolate bunny
sitting in a sprinkle of "Easter grass" within pewter egg
cups that feature a bunny on an oak leaf.

Here is the yellow version with stripes.

The centerpiece is a simple mix of flowers, a cute salt and pepper set, and eggs decorated in Chinoiserie style.

The salt and pepper set was found at Home Goods this year.
Marked, Spring Collection by Corner Ruby.

The eggs are some of my favorite Easter collectables.
The two emu eggs were hand painted by Pippa Goetz
years ago when she was first offering these unique eggs.
The large ceramic 3 piece egg is another piece from the
Williams Sonoma Famille Rose Collection.

The buffet is styled just for fun with
Easter needlepoint and other collectables.

I added a couple of bunny needlepoint
pieces in my faux bois chairs.

Happy Easter, friends!

The summer we married, my husband was in graduate school, and I was employed as a teacher. We took a portion of our savings that summer and purchased a sailboat. We christened our Catalina 22, “Hyacinths For The Soul” after Saadi’s poem. Our "Hyacinths" provided years of pleasure.

  1. Sarah, I always enjoy seeing your collections for the holidays and seasons and your wonderful Easter egg collection is no exception. What a beautiful table and adorable carrot treat bags. 🥕 Your petal placemats are wonderful framing your plate layers and I love the pop of black and white from your Courtly Check runner. Your ‘Egg Hunt Champ’ trophy is adorable too! I know you’re missing the companionship of your sweet Sadie. As always, it’s a treat to join you at the table and hop with you. Happy March! 🐇🩷

  2. Sarah, the Famille Rose is such a beautiful and classic pattern. I love how you brought out your Asian-styled eggs for the centerpiece. The Arte Italica placemats are so pretty, either and both colors, and the whimsy of M-C pattern play and those carrot gift bags as table decor, along with that Mark Roberts bluebird, take the formality to fun in an instant. I blew up every photo to catch all the wonderful details - the pewter bunny egg cups and salt & peppers, and all those gorgeous little needlepoint bunnies on the buffet. Oh my, your handwork is so fine. I love the figural shaped bunny pillow, but loved seeing the sjp 1987 best on the other.
Thank you so much for bringing your wonderful collections, vintage and new, to these blog hops. I always enjoy all the detail.

I must say the carrot treat bags add that perfect touch of whimsy which I look forward to on your curated tables. You never disappoint with the all the wonderful details that are always a major part of your tabletop designs. I know you miss your sweet Sadie. It is always a pleasure to join you at the table. 7. Sarah your tables always make me linger to enjoy all the different elements that comprise your styling. I don't want to miss a single thing such as your MKC courtly check runner and I have to say my preference would be the green Arte Italica placemats, but both are pretty. I feel your pain with Sadie...I lost my little white pom, Jesse James last year and I think of that little 5 pound ball of fluff every day. He was 20 years old and he was the little bandit that stole our hearts.Happy Spring!🌸🦋🐰

  9. I am enjoying all of the beautiful tables that I have seen thus far this morning as a part of the blog hop. Each one unique and varied, and each one having something I’ve absolutely fallen in love with. I really love your salt and pepper shakers here. I tend to have a thing for salt and pepper shakers. I like to change them up with each table setting. Impossible, of course, nonetheless in an ideal world, that’s what I would be doing.

  11. Sarah, where do I begin? There are so many favorites among your precious table. As always I love your use of the black and white checkered pieces of McKC. It really brings a rich and playful look to your table, especially since your paired it with the lovely green or lilac colored velvet flower shaped placemat. So elegant along with your gorgeous place stack. The colors pick up on the design in your plates and really pop with the contrast of the black and white. Even your wall hanging in your room is a lovely coordinating piece. I especially love all of the details you added to your egg centerpiece. I am partial when it comes to tables with plenty of small details. I can spend hours looking at each detail. Your have some wonderful unique pieces. Your buffet looks like it holds plenty of the "sugar eggs with interior scenes"? I guess the panoramic eggs are still made. Your collection is wonderful. I enjoyed all of it. Happy Easter, Sarah.

  12. Sarah, your table is beautiful. I am always enchanted by your collections and the details you include on your tables. The Famille Rose plates are so delicate and pretty and will be perfect for your ladies luncheon. I love the unexpected pop of black and white from your MCK pieces and the petal velvet placemats are lovely in both colors. Your egg collection is darling and so are the needlepoint pieces. I'm so sorry about your sweet Sadie - pets always leave such a hole in your heart when they are gone. I still miss my sweet kittie Foxie and it's been nearly two years now. I had a hard time telling which flowers were real and which were faux but I'm so glad for you that your garden is recovering and blooming after the January ice and snow. Happy spring Sarah and I hope you have a wonderful Easter.

  17. Oh Sarah, this is so full of spring and joy! What a treat. As we're in the midst of a cold wind storm (and hoping it isn't much more), to see these lovely colors, the adorable bunnies, and all the beautiful china and accessories is such a joy! Thank you for the smiles!

  18. Oh those darling little carrots!! And so sweet that they hold the flatware and napkin – you are so creative! I think I’m leaning toward the green placemats, but the way you have them here, offset with the lavender, is so springy and fun. Haha – I love your little blue birdie too – just sitting there so cozy on the table! All the little touches are great, and so much fun to find and admire at this beautiful table and buffet! Happy Spring and Easter Sarah!

  20. Sarah, I'm entranced by your lovely spring dining table and by the buffet decor! I love every thing that you've thoughtfully added to both. The velvet placemats -- with petals -- lend such beautiful texture, contrasted with the gleaming chargers and the eye-catching plates. The mix of items in the centerpiece provides an interesting view from each of the place settings, and placing them in a low wicker basket is a charming twist to the notion of an Easter basket. If I were there I would spend a wonderful time admiring each of the eggs and bunnies gathered on the buffet. A stunning hop into Spring!
