The summer we married, my husband was in graduate school, and I was employed as a teacher. We took a portion of our savings that summer and purchased a sailboat. We christened our Catalina 22, “Hyacinths For The Soul” after Saadi’s poem. Our "Hyacinths" provided years of pleasure.

    Maybe it is because we were born in the same year, but I each of the things that brings you happiness brings me happiness too!

    I thought of you when my neighbor brought over a hyacinth plant for me to smell and remind her the name - she couldn't for the life of her remember hyacinth.

    Sarah, I've just visited Uptown Acorn and read all about the things that make you happy, can you imagine how happy I was to see the photograph of the two of you sitting in the car outside our house here in Normandy. We loved having you to stay with us, can you believe it was over 6 years ago? We need to get together again soon!
