Autumn Splendor

The splendor of a perfect autumn day
delights my senses and makes this time
of year my favorite season.

Leaves in hues of gold and russet brown drifting down,
pumpkin stands, a nip in the air, bowls of hearty steaming soups ~
all provide a sense of joy and merriment after the long,
hot days of a Texas summer.

When I happened upon
a table set with these
charming plates, it was love at first sight.

Each plate a different enchanting scene
in perfect shades of pumpkin.

I knew immediately that I wanted
to add these to our autumn tables.

The Juliska dessert service is sold in sets of four.
I followed The Tablescaper's rule
and bought three sets to make an even dozen.

That gave me six for salads and
six for a dessert buffet.
Of course I had to have the Harvest Hostess Tray too!

My tip for serving ice cream on a dessert buffet :
Place a pretty napkin in a glass container,
slip a carton of ice cream into the napkin,
and you instantly have a pretty ice cream server.

About Juliska Country Estate
"Juliska's Country Estate scenic dinnerware is a true collection of art.  Each piece is first hand painted by friend and artist Deborah Sears and then meticulously translated into decals to preserve the unique look of hand painting.  The various scenes weave a charming narrative of country life through its brushstrokes and beckon the viewer to join in its story." ~ Juliska.com

If you are as enchanted by this charming dinnerware as I am,

The summer we married, my husband was in graduate school, and I was employed as a teacher. We took a portion of our savings that summer and purchased a sailboat. We christened our Catalina 22, “Hyacinths For The Soul” after Saadi’s poem. Our "Hyacinths" provided years of pleasure.

  16. Of course I'm kicking myself for not picking these up at our Juliska event a few weeks ago. Instead I got more of the red winter holiday. I loved their leather napkin rings too. Your table turned out beautiful with the new additions. They look wonderful with the Bordallo chargers and the white basketweave plates. Juliska pieces are so versatile!! The silver napkin rings (gorgeous monogram!!) are wonderful.. as are those sweet place card holders.
The flatware is the perfect touch. Gorgeous table. Can't wait to see more of your table with these pieces! Happy Fall. xo marlis

Your floral arrangement is perfect with these stacks of plates, and that is a great idea to use a napkin in a bowl for the carton of ice cream. I'll have to remember that. I think a lot of bloggers are having trouble with their posts updating on blog rolls. I don't know if mine are updating or not. Sigh.
