Spring is here! The Azaleas are in bloom,
and the trees are popping out with fresh green leaves.
In central Texas that means it's time for a favorite event, the huge antique festival held twice a year in rural Round Top, Texas, and the surrounding small communities of Fayette County.
The sun is out, and the days can be warm, so dress causally. Grab one of these pretty pink parasols if you aren't from these parts and need a little shade.
Mason Ball canning jars in my favorite shade of aqua blue.
I like to fill them with fresh flowers and group them together on a tray.
They add the perfect touch of color
here and there for both spring and summer.

The aqua canning jars are new to me, I've not seen those before.
ReplyDeleteFilled with azaleas they make a lovely springtime vignette.
Bon weekend,

Azaleas are beautiful! Looking at your fun post makes me feel warm, hopefully we'll get some sunshine soon! Thanks for visiting me and your kind comments.
ReplyDeleteI would love to be at the antique festival in Round Top, shopping for treasures. Love your turquoise Mason jars. Gosh, I wish I hadn't gotten rid of mine. They are so pretty with the Spring flowers in them. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteSarah,
ReplyDeleteLovely post! I have a window on the lower level full of the blue mason jars from my Mother~in~law. They add such a lovely hue to the room when the sun shines through. Warmer temperatures are finally in store on the prairie for the weekend...perhaps I might need one of those paracels?
Fondly,
pat
I love the blue mason jars! I saw a bunch at the antique mall a couple of weekends ago and they are more expensive than the clear ones. They must be harder to come by. I think I may go back and get them. ;) Lovely post!
ReplyDeletexo,
Sena
Those blue Mason jars are favorites of mine too. I envy you being able to attend the Round Top Show!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Susan and Bentley

Oh how I miss my central Texas!! I have only been away for 3 yrs. But I spent the first 46 living there. I love the Azaleas!! Mine here won't bloom for another month or so. Oh the junk shops what fun!!!!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy seeing pictures and hearing from people from my stopping grounds. =0)
Your photos brought me right to Texas--what a delight! You'd mentioned Singapore Bird--I wanted that pattern when I was a bride-to-be, and my mom talked me into white pottery, which I love :-),
ReplyDeletebut Singapore Bird stayed on my mind. I bought the pieces one at a time. Still looking for a teapot.
:-) I had your address but can't find it. I want to send you a few goodies, including some of Lori Wilde's Twilight Texax novels. XX00
Now that I am retired I would love to do Round Top on of these years. So love the ball canning jars in the wonderful blue color. Cannot find any around this area. Love the pictures. Happy PS
ReplyDeleteTrying to get some visiting in before heading out to spend the day with my MIL.
ReplyDeleteWe are having some awesome weather and I didn't get to pop into Round Top on Thursday (my first time there) but planning on return in the Fall for the weekend...so much to see.
Saturday Blessings ;-)
Would love to come to Texas one year for that antique festival. Will have to talk to Susie about a trip. And I'm sure the bluebonnets are just beautiful. Unfortunately, they don't grow those in Alabama.
ReplyDeleteOh, golly! Do you live near Round Top ... we were just there a few months ago! I'd have LOVED to have met you. Maggie, grandmayellowhair, blog lives right by there. If you haven't met her, for heaven's sake do so. She is a dream, we adopted her! Would you send me your address please? TY.
ReplyDeleteLove the ball jars, we do this too, sometimes. Gorgeous spring ...
Happy April PS ~

Hi Sarah
ReplyDeleteThe azaleas are just starting to boom here. My daughter in law who lives in Texas goes to Round Top every year with her girlfirends and she always manages to find something fun there. Sometime I'd like to go there myself. The flowers lookso pretty in the mason jars...love the aqua color!
Hugs, Rhondi
I'm from Texas originally, but live in Colorado now. Sure wish I could be tromping around those show fields!
ReplyDeleteMaybe someday...sigh.
Hugs,
Judy
Hi Sarah,
ReplyDeleteSo nice of you to stop by! I ran across the poem from which you took the name of your blog just the other day. I have a book of poetry that my brother gave me years ago and when I read the poem, I thought of you!
Those azaleas are gorgeous and I like your rooster lamp! I love the aqua blue canning jars too! Happy Pink Saturday and thanks for stopping by for tea.
Blessings,
Sandi
What wonderful photos, Sarah! I knew it was Round Top time even before you posted about it because TONS of crafy bloggers have been talking about going. Maybe someday~~~ *sigh*
ReplyDeleteI, too, love that aqua shade of Mason jar. I only have one or two left from my Mom's. I should ask sis if there are any left in her cellar.
Hope you have a nice weekend. We've got company coming from AZ...they're gonna freeze!!!!
Sarah those azaleas are gorgeous! Ours are not blooming even though it has been an early spring. Thanks so much for stopping by:-)

ReplyDeleteHi Sarah!
ReplyDeleteOh, I would love to visit this flea market! So much fun I am sure! I think flowers in Ball canning jars are just the pretties way to display them!
Hi lovely lady. I love your blue mason jars this would look beautiful for a centerpiece on one of my Tablescape. I also love the photos of Texas seeing I have a home hear. I hope you and your family have a nice Week End.
ReplyDeleteDiane
I get so jealous....spring green with envy....when I see the wonderful shows going on out there in Texas. Wish I could attend. Our azaleas won't bloom for a couple of weeks yet and I just bought some of those Ball jars the other day. We plan to use them for the wedding. HPS Sarah and a wonderful week ahead of you. xo
ReplyDeleteSarah, Your pink Azaleas are glorious. I wish I had been in Texas to go to the antique festival with you. So many temptations, I think the little rooster lamp with the red shade would have found its way home with me. Your idea of using the Mason Ball Jars for the fresh flower arrangement on the tray is just spectacular. I've never noticed the aqua color, think I'll see if I have any in the attic.
ReplyDeleteHope your having a wonderful Sunday............

ReplyDeleteHugs to you,
Donna
Oh, I wish Spring was here like it is there. So pretty. Thanks for being a part of Seasonal Sundays.
ReplyDelete- The Tablescaper
I don't think I have ever seen Ball jars in aqua, so pretty! Love seeing your flowers and displays, always a delight.
ReplyDeleteAre you going to see ML when she is in TX?
The Round Top sounds like a wonderful shopping bonanza Sarah! Your new aquamarine canning jars look so pretty lined up together. I know a bride who used them as her flower vases at her wedding reception and they looked so pretty!
ReplyDeleteWe are still waiting for Spring weather to arrive and chase the cold away.
Isn't spring in Texas just the best! Our azaleas are fast fading so we went to the Hill Country this weekend to check out the bluebonnets which were not as profuse as usual. Glad you found treasures at Round Top.
ReplyDeleteWow! Azaelas are far off for us. Round Top looks like a lot of fun. Thank you for bringing Spring in Texas to Seasonal Sundays.
ReplyDelete- The Tablescaper
Happy Pink Saturday, Sarah.
ReplyDeleteI would love to grab one of those pink parasols and cruise all of the sales.
