Amazing Pink Sight on Halloween Night

Once in a blue moon, Halloween falls on a Saturday. These little creatures flew in to give a little scary pink for a Pink Saturday Halloween.

The above photos were taken by my brother-in-law's friend, Karen Moore. She just happened to look out her window to see these night feeders at the humming bird feeder.

Since today is Halloween, I'm also linking this post to Fiberdodles Halloween Blog Party. Click on the Smile Box below to "Trick or Treat" at my place.

The summer we married, my husband was in graduate school, and I was employed as a teacher. We took a portion of our savings that summer and purchased a sailboat. We christened our Catalina 22, “Hyacinths For The Soul” after Saadi’s poem. Our "Hyacinths" provided years of pleasure.

We'll get together next week sometime and solve the collage/mosaic thing, d'accord?

As for the bats, those photos are awesome, and she should try and see if a wildlife organization would be interested in printing them! Have her contact the National Wildlife Federation.http://www.nwf.org/ or Bat Conservation International, http://www.batcon.org/

  39. Amazing photos. I never would have thought the bats would go for the hummingbird feeder. Strictly on scent because they wouldn't see them very well. Wow. So translucent and Halloween scary looking.

  40. Wow that is the coolest thing I have seen in ages!!! But were they really that color???? We once had over 500 bats in one of our chimneys!!! Our cat and our son (who was little at the time) kept trying to tell us !!

  41. What a cute Halloween post! Those bat pictures are amazing!

Your comment about candy corn reminded me of my candy corn story and that I should have posted it, so I did! Here's what I added:

Candy corn story – We don’t usually get any trick or treaters in this neighborhood and I had no candy to give out. Our doorbell rang at about 8:30 p.m. and about nine young teenagers were at the door! They didn’t have masks and were cute and clean cut. I told them all I had was one bag of candy corn and would they share it? They agreed to! I’m glad I bought that candy corn – only bought it for the tablescape, and it was buy one, get one! (I do like to eat it once a year, but it is pure sugar!

  42. OMGOSH...What scary but cute little bats..I think I associate them with blood sucking little fellas but i think maybe they got a bum rap there!! :)

The MINUTE I read your comment on my post, I DID remember that these large goblets ARE called Buttermilk glasses. I had forgotten all about that and am so so glad you reminded me of it. I am always on the look-out for more pretty Buttermilk goblets but seldom see the really pretty ones.
Thanks so much for this reminder...

  43. Oh, Sarah, those bats are so cool! I kind of have a thing for bats, but I'd probably be scared to death if I saw one up close like that.

I like your Halloween decor. You asked about my artichokes on my tablescape today. Yes, they are, indeed, real.
