September 2009

Welcome to Marty's Cloche Party and Beverly's Pink Saturday. This little cupcake stand is the only thing in my home that qualifies as a cloche, so it's the best I could do. But hey, I wanted to join in Marty's fun!

Now you need to hurry on over to Marty's @ A Stroll Through Life. There are some amazing cloches to discover. Then on Saturday, please go on over to Beverly's @ How Sweet the Sound to see more Pink Saturday fun.

The summer we married, my husband was in graduate school, and I was employed as a teacher. We took a portion of our savings that summer and purchased a sailboat. We christened our Catalina 22, “Hyacinths For The Soul” after Saadi’s poem. Our "Hyacinths" provided years of pleasure.

  27. Happy Pink Saturday! That cupcake looks delicious...I'm not sure that I could leave it there long enough to take a photo as you did! I'm on the lookout for a cloche (or ten!), I'm not willing to pay full price for one and so far Goodwill, etc... hasn't yielded any. But I have faith! Have a great week, Leslie

As an aside, I co-authored a cookbook called "Daily Bread and a Hyacinth." Love the quote we both use!

  29. LOVE your post today!! You are responsible for my Haiku hunt for Autumn!! I'll show pic soon of what I've done to the coffee table. I traded out the scripture for an Autumn Tree Haiku...you've inspired me girlie. and...yes, I believe you've not been there. The water is cold and this is the 1st time we've allowed the boys in on our love of the park there. They've been to the other 2.
