~ Springtime Simplicity ~
I shot the photo of this lovely table setting
at Marburger Antiques this spring.
Such a simple idea,
and so easy to replicate.
The random bottles
could be filled with flowers,
but I rather like them empty
with the occasional stopper added.
Did you notice that
these stoppers are door knobs?
Place settings of
vintage white china,
each piece a different pattern.
White linens with ruffles
to flutter in the breeze,
and gauzy slips over the chairs
make this table setting

ReplyDeleteI like that LONG BOX in the center of the table. AND I always go crazy for creamy whites. The bottle stoppers being door knobs is SO CLEVER. """BUT""" My very favorite thing is the clock bottle stopper...I """ALWAYS GO NUTS""" for clocks and that is FANTASTIC!

This table truly inspires me, Sarah! After stepping outside of the box and doing a busy, color filled tablescape this week, I am ready to go back to pale, simple dishes and less crowding on the table. Thanks for sharing!

I am a nut for old bottles, some I've even unearthed in our yard, but they generally just sit in the kitchen cupboard. This idea is just brilliant and I love the door knob stoppers!

I like it with the empty bottles, but I think it could be really slick with various blooms plopped down into the bottle, too. This would be a great way for someone who is not skilled at flower arranging to make a big impact.

Sarah, this is simply beautiful! when that first picture came up, I said to myself, door knobs in bottles. So brilliant! I love the idea of that long wood tray. I was thinking of asking Danny to make me one, but then I started thinking about where I might store it when it wasn't in use. Since I can't sew, I need to find someone who can make me a wonderful ruffled tablecloth. This is a pin-worthy inspirtation. Love it. laurie
