Thinking of all my friends on the
East Coast with love and concern
as they face the ordeal of Hurricane Sandy.
A few weeks ago I shared an inspiration table
Click the link above if you missed this charming table.
It inspired me to set a
table crawling with spiders.
So I could use my own set of these
darling arachnid plates from Tag.
The inspiration table was set
with just black and orange details,
but I wanted to add in a touch of plum.
Instead of a tablecloth,
I used my favorite ruffled edge woven placemats
topped with my all time favorite Courtly Check chargers.
The colorful napkins atop
simple black dinner plates provide a
perfect backdrop for the cute plates.
The plates were sold in sets of four ~
two with black borders and two with white borders.
A festive headband at each
place setting adds a touch of whimsy.
Take your choice of the spider's web above,
this black widow with its pointy hat,
The bug eyed fly,
Or the masked black cat.
Pick
Your
Favorite
Spot
Around the large wooden
tray that holds a spooky tree.
Where owls, black cats,
and witches boots and hats
sway from its branches.
Little munchkins roam below.
Vintage noise makers are at the ready, and
Your very own candy corn
filled witch shoe party favor awaits.

I don't even particularly like Haloween, but this is darling. The headbands are amazing, & the plates are great. Thanks for the update on Kathleen, Alma, & Yvonne. Cherry Kay
ReplyDeleteSarah~ Your witch shoe party favors are adorable to accompany your spider plates! I love that they have black as well as white webs! It's hard to choose a favorite spot~ I'm torn between the bug-eyed fly and the masked black cat :)
ReplyDeleteThe headbands are a really neat addition to your tablescape. Love the candy corn shoe and the noisemakers too.
ReplyDeleteI love your spiders. Unfortunately, I've been un-inviting way too many real spiders in my home. I really, really prefere yours!
ReplyDeleteHappy Halloween! Love the tablescape. I hope you get lots of scary trick-or-treaters!

ReplyDeleteCute table Sarah, but I'm not too fond of spiders. Maybe yours would be okay, if they don't move.
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah!
ReplyDeleteI really like those little owl ornaments... very vintage looking. Vintage Halloween decor is my favorite.
Those cute spider plates reminded me that I forgot to paint webs on my little black hexagon dessert plates from the GW. Oh well, maybe next year, lol.

Hi Sarah,
ReplyDeletealthough I don't celebrate Halloween here, I was curious about your decorations. And as expected it turned out, its one of the nicest I ever saw. I love your witches as they have so natural characteristic faces. And your table decorations are great. Love the little spider plates. You have such an eye for all those beautiful things. Really amazing.

Cute table...I love those spider web plates!
ReplyDeleteSO COOL!!!!!!! I really like how each place setting is different yet complementary. And those plates....those PLATES!!! I like that the colors are reversed on every other one. Very slick! All the vintage touches are really cool, too. They really take me back to the early 60s when Christmas was still very, very magical for me. (Not that it isn't now, but looking at it through 5-year-old eyes and 55-year-old eyes are 2 different things! :-)) I love the big tree since I'm a fan of "the bigger the better." I think I would be the bug eye fly!
ReplyDeleteI like the plum touches with the black and white. The shoe with candy corn is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteEeek! I'm scared of spiders! I would have to bring a fly swatter!! LOL!
Katherine
You always have the funnest settings, Sarah! I want to spend a holiday at your house! =)
ReplyDeleteThis si such a wonderful Halloween tablescape, Sarah! The spiderweb plates are fun! I also love the felt stichery--very cute and clever.
ReplyDeleteThank you for all your kind words of support for the Hurricane Sandy victims. I have been voluteering at a temporary shelter In Brooklyn the past few days for people that lost their homes. It is wonderful to see how many people are helping and donating goods that are needed.
Oh, your girls would be best friends with mine! Love those plates. They would be such a great addition to my Halloween collection. The shoes are so fun. I made some of those last year but not this year. You have lots of fun on Halloween too! I love it.
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah! You had your usual delightful holiday table, I see! So fun. You asked about my dining chairs-- They are patio chairs I brought inside to use at the table. They happen to have that great acorn leaf design perfect for autumn. I think we are having Texas weather this fall!
ReplyDeletePerfect table for Halloween, love the plates. The little spiders sure make the plate interesting. You have so many cute pieces for the occasion, I sure remember those noise makers from the past. Thanks Sarah.
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful Sarah! Thanks for linking up with HSH!
