The summer we married, my husband was in graduate school, and I was employed as a teacher. We took a portion of our savings that summer and purchased a sailboat. We christened our Catalina 22, “Hyacinths For The Soul” after Saadi’s poem. Our "Hyacinths" provided years of pleasure.

    A RED-LESS DAY?

“Oh, my goodness, oh, my dear!
Don’t you think it’s very clear
    That a red-less day’s a drag?”

  39. Bee-yoo-tee-ful table linen!!! So wonderfully delicate and finely stitched. Just gorgeous. Fabulous chopstick set, too. I love to see different chopsticks & rests. Yours are uniquely sophisticated. The dishes are lovely, too, with a nice balance of red & white. Just FYI, I think hyacinths are my favorite springtime bloom, so the name of your blog stands out for me! Then to see that brilliant purple hyacinth in the header...wow!!! Have a wonderful weekend.
