I'm joining Pam and Mary for their monthlyTea on Tuesday!May continues full speed ahead and fortunately hasbeen pleasantly cool with much needed rainfall.Life is busy with gardening, stitching, and time with friends.
I'm always honored to join my friends Pam and Mary for Tea on Tuesdays. You will find links to their beautiful tea time posts below.
Today I'm enjoying a little tea time in the relatively newsmall garden space that I've been enjoying here at home.
A recent antiquing trip with my Dish Sisters yielded a perfect little tea for one table.Bamboo motif no less!
We created this little space some time ago, and I've long wanted to add a little garden furniture so I could sit and enjoy tea or coffee.
I can look across from this spot and see my neighbor's huge magnolia trees. They are beginning to bloom, and Mollygraciously allows me to snip a few blooms to enjoy.
You can see above how the blooms start very tight, but once they begin to open. magnolia blooms do not last long.Their scent is intoxicating, almost a lemony sweet frgrance.
I like to cut the blooms when they are still tight because within hours they will be fully open.
This morning's tea is Canton Rose by Louis Sherry. The black tea is delicately scented with Damask rose petals, and blackberry leaves packaged within delicate pyramid tea bags.
I steeped the tea in one of my "tea for one" petite teapots, vintage William Adams, Sheffield, England. Made of silver plate, this little charmer is likely from the 1940s. I filled the mustard pot with petite sugar cubes for those who like to sweeten their tea.
The small cheese puffs, which I pick up from a local bakery, are called pao de queijo, the most common bread in Brazil. The slightly sweet scone is Trader Joe's delicious vanilla bean scone.
I have a set of six of these delicate petite cups and saucers that were gifted to me by a friend. They had been her grandmother's, and she thought I would enjoy using them. They are very old and indeed special! The soft pink linens were a wedding gift, now over 50 years old.
Savoring a cup of tea on my own, is for me, a daily ritual.
I'm very pleased to have found the perfect petite table and chair for my garden space.
Thank you for joining me

Good Morning Sarah, Your Tea on Tuesday in the garden was such a lovely treat to visit this morning. I know you must be enjoying your beautiful new table and garden area…what a peaceful and charming spot to sit and savor a cup of tea surrounded by spring blooms! The magnolia blossoms are absolutely gorgeous and add such elegance to your setting. I also adored your petite cups and saucers…they’re so delicate and pretty and perfect for a spring garden tea. Every detail feels so welcoming and serene. Wishing I could pull up a chair and join you among the blooms this morning. Thank you for joining us for tea this morning, it’s always a treat to have you join us! 🌸🫖💕
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Sarah. I love your new garden spot and the perfect table for one! I know it is exciting to have a new space to enjoy the outdoors and the views of your neighbor’s large magnolia trees! Our magnolia tree was the first tree we planted after we built our home forty seven years ago. It has been extremely stressed this year with the drought. Leaves are falling constantly and we are hopeful that it will survive. I also enjoy cutting the blooms in the bud state. One bloom’s fragrance will permeate my kitchen! The petite cups and saucers are exquisite, an amazing gift for, a friend! Your tables are always lovely in detail. I would enjoy joining you for tea! It is always a pleasure to have you join us for Tea on Tuesdays! 🩷🫖
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Sarah. I always enjoy having tea with you because you share your beautiful collections. And to now be invited to your gardens is a special treat. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time out in your gardens, sipping a fine tea and indulging in delicacies.
Good morning, Sarah! You certainly found the perfect tea for one set to enjoy your tea and treats and the beauty of your neighbor’s magnolia tree. Your teapot is so sweet and the mustard jar is perfect for sugar cubes. The tea flavor sounds wonderful with your teatime treats. Thank you for sharing your new nook in your garden where you’ll be enjoying some relaxing times.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful magnolias!! Such a sweet little area in your beautiful back yard for a quiet moment and a cup of tea!!
ReplyDeleteHello dear lady. What a lovely tea time for one you have put together in your sweet garden space. And Molly's Magnolias are a gorgeous addition as well. Your tasty treats and beautiful china is stunning. I have heard great things about TJ scones - I have never purchased scones before - I am getting to the point where making them just for myself is just not worth the mess LOL. I think as I get older I am getting quite happily lazy. SO I may need to try them and save myself time and trouble. And if I do not like them I will just make my mess as I have for years and years. Thank you for the inspiration. Wish I could sit and sip right there with you. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteOh how pretty and such a treat to have Magnolias! Aren't they divine!
ReplyDeleteSarah, this turned out beautifully and I’m so excited that I got to be part of the adventure acquiring the table and chair! Those cups and saucers are magnificent. The beautiful linens are a treasure. Enjoy your morning ritual 😘
ReplyDeleteI've enjoyed sitting and enjoying your tea time Sarah. Such a lovely setting and especially nice for you to enjoy a view of the magnolia trees. Yes, the scent is intoxicating and one I dearly love. The sweet little table and chair are perfect for you to enjoy your tea time and it looks perfect there. I recently purchased a set for my little garden area but it's in a sunny area and with the summer heat I don't use it much. Such a sweet gift from your friend with the petite cups and saucers. Lovely linen and perfect setting. Happy Memorial Day sweet Sarah........
ReplyDeleteSarah, I love your new garden chair and table for one! Small space settings are the best, indeed! I love the smell of magnolia, and I noticed the University's down the street is now starting the bud. Your vintage wares are all beautifully cleaned and arranged for your teatime, and the treats both look delish. Is that the needle project I saw in your tote post that you were carrying along your trips with your dish sisters? It's very pretty, perfect for this spring setting. It's always a treat to spend time visiting you and your home, garden, and vintage & antique moments!
ReplyDeleteA lovely spot for tea Sarah. The magnolias from your neighbor are so pretty. The petite cups and sauces are so special. A wonderful gift from your friend. Enjoy your little spot in your garden. Happy weekend.
