We never have snow here either so it is a foreign concept to me too. It is cold though. I have worn a coat!
ReplyDeleteWe have al the snow and ice that you could want! We used to make mini hills from the snow my husband would clear from the driveway and the kids enjoyed sliding on them. The kids would come in with pink faces, wet snow suits and we'd warm them up with hot cocoa. That's a real cute picture and makes me think about those days.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your snow people and the cute painting just a little bit longer….it made me smile.
ReplyDeleteLove the snowy painting, Sarah! Here...no snow but temps in the teens tonight and single digits last week...brrrr! I have to admit I am thinking of spring...and I rarely do that this early! Have a great week!...hugs...Debbie
ReplyDeleteYour snowy fun painting reminds me of our years in Montana. Now, I'm happy with looking a that cute picture and your tray of darling snow people. Glad to see you're posts are updating.
ReplyDeleteDearest Sarah,
ReplyDeleteWhat a great news to read your message about your blog showing up again on the sidebar! And I did find it right away at the very top on mine... Guess that's the very same mystery as my Search bog at the top of my blog; for over a month or so it didn't work and I took it off, re-installed it but no results. Yesterday I found it working again!
What a lovely winter art work you show us here. But having lived with snow in The Netherlands; I will never again want to go back to it... Brrrrrrrrrr
Your copper heart is so lovely with its German Poetry: Nothing there's more beautiful on earth than to be loved by you...
You're heading towards Valentine!
Love the Springerle heart too.
Hugs to you and hope you stay warm; here it is mean cold with that wind that touches your soul.
Mariette
Glad you re-appeared in my blogroll too, Sarah. It seems I had the same issue as Mariette (above.) Brrr... I got a chill looking at these lovely pics of winter scenes. I would not mind a little bit of Texas heat right now. Brrr... Happy New Year to you! Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

ReplyDeleteYay..you arrived on my blog roll:-)
ReplyDeleteMany times you don't..
I love that artist now Sarah:-)
So cute...
We lived in Houston 6 1/2 years. It snowed once early in the morning. All the kids were out on the cul de sac at 6:00 AM screaming!
ReplyDeleteWhat sweet artwork.
ReplyDeleteWe are headed to the snow on Thursday so we can swish down the slopes of Alta and Snowbird in Utah. California has very little snow except for man made.
Now I am off to check out the Valentine party I see on the side of your blog.
There's no snow at all here, and none expected. If we want snow we can drive up to Mt Washington or take the ferry to the mainland and drive to Whistler. Me? I'm happy to find a beach on the way to work and stop for a few minutes to enjoy the misty sunrise.
ReplyDeleteOh, Sarah- I sure wish I could send you a whole semi-load of snow and have it dropped in your drive. I am SO over winter here.
ReplyDeleteDarling picture. I just love it- xo Diana
Hi Sarah....thank goodness we rarely get snow here in Georgia....our stray cat even refuses to go outside...my crazy husband carried her upstairs and she's asleep on our bed...typical man...can't fathom that being a feral cat she just might have fleas....I would rather host snowmen like you instead of a cat!
ReplyDeleteI am like Diana. We have so much snow in Wisconsin this year, we would love to share!
ReplyDeleteBut I love your painting and snowmen vignettes Sarah!
And actually, I really do like snow a lot in the beginning. It's just this winter has been long already.'
And your hearts, so unique!
Have a great week,
Cindy
That's a cute painting Sarah, I'd be the person falling down on the ice skates:@) Gotta admit I was concerned when I read your blog title, I thought "snow in Texas???". Have a great day:@)
ReplyDeleteWhat darling artwork! I'm glad it found a wonderful home. I'd love to know more about the artist also. We are enjoying our snowshoeing activities at camp on the weekends :-)
ReplyDeleteI would love a snow day but we just keep getting the arctic blast! It's 17 today with a wind chill making it feel like 1 degree!!! My coat is no shield against the wind. Off to wait for the train and let me tell you 13 minutes waiting time is painful!!! It makes me so thankful for shelter.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy the snow during the holidays but now I have had enough - - it has been an easy winter, though - only 65" of snow so far this season!
ReplyDeleteWhat a charming painting. If it snows here, we had flurries yesterday, I stay inside by the fire. I am not a fan of cold.
ReplyDeleteSarah, the copper German heart stopped me in my tracks. I wish that someday I come across one like this. It's gorgeous. I love the sweet saying also. I know nothing of the artist of your pretty snow piece. It provided a beautiful backdrop for the vignette. Stay warm.. hugs, Marlis
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty scene...too bad it isn't really that much fun in real life! We're FREEZING here...woke up to 1º & will only warm up to 6º!!
ReplyDeleteI like snowy days so I have an excuse not to drive anywhere & I can sew all day, till my ♥'s content.
Love your pretty copper ♥!
Hurry up Spring...only 56 more days!!
Oh, my kids are knee high deep in snow about now in Massachusetts. Here in North Carolina it's colder than usual, but no snow.
ReplyDeleteSnowy days are beautiful. Thank you for such a pretty post filled with snowy scenes.
Karen
Ah yes, such a happy picture! I rarely get snow here in coastal SC but my daughter occasionally gets it in NC where she is living. The kids were able to sled today ;-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely painting, and your snowmen statues are adorable, Sarah!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was younger i loved to sled, ice skate and even ski on occasion, but I have not done any of those activities in many years. I would be worried I'd hurt my knees now, but I do enjoy a brisk winter walk every day, and of course I bring my camera along to take photos.
We are shipping all our snow to the east this year, and I am missing it. I love winter and I love snow. If it were snowing, I would like to be inside and just watch the snow come down. I love the peaceful, calm feeling it brings. Love the artwork. I also admire your Valentine molds. Joni
ReplyDeleteAs a fellow-Texan, I'm grateful for our mild winters, but an occasional snow day sure makes for lots of conversation and photo taking.
ReplyDeleteJoining you from Mrs. Olsen's, where we are neighbors.
To answer your question...SHOVEL! We had about 10 inches and it was about 15 today!
ReplyDeleteCute post! You will be happy to know your new posts are finally showing up in my sidebar! It was your Halloween post for months!
Oh I love all your snowmen and looks like we are all going to get some really frosty weather! Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteMiss Bloomers
We never get any snow in SO CA and I had enough for a life time living in Cleveland, Ohio while I was growing up and then after I got married and we moved back to Chicago. But I do love that picture and it looks so good with you darling snowmen.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
Mary
We didn't have any snow this year in either Vancouver Oxford, so I love your painting. Sometimes I wish I lived in Montreal or Vermont or someplace that has lovely, crisp snow, but then I think of the cold and think maybe I'll just paint myself a snow painting...lol.
ReplyDeleteSarah,
ReplyDeleteYour post updated on my blog roll! Wow! How did you get it fixed?
Love your little snow scene with your snowmen.
It's going to be 19 degrees here tonight. Brrrrrr...., but it's also supposed to warm back up immediately.
Judith
Love your snowy vignette! I keep wishing for a little snow since it's a rare occurrence and never lingers very long. I adore your copper molds! ♥
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun picture and it is perfect with your lovely snowmen! Wishing for some of your warmth right now. I told Joni that the grass is always greener on the other side and the snow is always whiter!!! Ha ha!
ReplyDeleteYou know I don't have much in the way of winter activity either except for the few winter days we spend in Maine. I have to confess though, I'd rather be in Texas this time of year.
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah, We are having several days of exceptionally cold weather, but no snow. Occasionally we have a few inches of the white stuff but never enough to justify owning pretty whites skates or a sled! So on this cold day I’m catch-up around the house and dreaming of a warm getaway! Love your pretty winter scene and vignette. Great collection of snowmen. I’m working on a winter tablescape before the valentine’s come out........
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Emily
Sweet painting! All those choices for a snowy day .....I could give you a little of our snow!!!
ReplyDeleteCarolyn
What a delightful work of art, and the frame is even her art. We don't often get snow either, but when we do, I like to sit inside with a cup of cocoa, watching the flakes swirl! Your vignette is so pretty. Love the snowmen with border of the striped tray and your dough bowl looks lovely. Sarah, my friend, thank you so much for spreading the word about the V'tine party! laurie
ReplyDeleteSarah the painting is so cute and I love your winter vignette. No snow but maybe some really cold days ahead! Thanks for linking up to TTF!
ReplyDeleteFor not living by snow you have a wonderful imagination and vignette. Sarah, I always enjoy seeing your home.
ReplyDelete- Alma, The Tablescaper
What a pretty snow-day picture, and the collection of snowmen that you have! We don't get much snow here either, at least not this year so far, in the Pacific Northwest, but I am not complaining.
ReplyDeleteYour vignette brings a smile to my frozen face! :)
ReplyDeleteToo bad the snow here in Illinois isn't "snowman snow"..too cold to pack.
xo
Andie
The snowmen are very pretty, Sarah. Believe it or not, it snowed here yesterday and it was in the 20's today so our grounds are still all white. Very pretty but I stay in doors....Christine
ReplyDeleteWhat a darling post and vignette! I am completely charmed. So glad to have found it at SYC Thursday!
ReplyDeleteOh Sarah, what a GREAT FIND! I love this type of art - so folksy and it tells so much about every day life with extraordinary color. You are like me I can tell...you enjoy black frames! Some of my favorite art in my home is laced in black and gold and this piece is stunning.
ReplyDeleteMy dear, I LOVE to cross country ski, be out with the young ones, walk in the snow and breathe in all the freshness. But this winter has been extremely dangerous to be out in! We have had three school cancellations so far state-wide and Monday may be cancelled as well with down to -60 F in upper Minnesota! Here in the Twin Cities, it was -25; I've been outside in that type of cold, but since the upper part of the state gets the worse of it, the whole state just cancels school.
Thank you kindly for coming to leave a message. Art is one of the many things we can do to promote thinking, change and LOVE.
Anita
The painting looks just wonderful in its new home, Sarah! You were right, you said you had a vignette in mind for it, and you really did a beautiful job on it. I love your adorable snowman collection. It's tempting me to go to Hobby Lobby or somewhere similar today and spend money!!! Featuring this post on my Link Party Features Pinterest Board this week. Thanks so much for sharing this at my History & Home Link Party this week. -Dawn @ We Call It Junkin.com
ReplyDeleteI love the art work that you bought, Sarah! It's so fun and perfect for dreaming of wintry fun. We had a few days of bitter cold and now today it was so warm and no coats!! I love winter in Texas. xo
ReplyDeleteLove this vignette! We so rarely see snow here in MS that I have no idea what I would do in it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and commenting on my Roman Baths in Bath, England post!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great picture and snowman vignette. I would love to have that amount of snow...looking at brown and leafless trees is growing very weary. I know we still have enough time left this winter to have a storm or two.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week, Sarah.
love the picture and all the snowmen. The picture was a great find. Be careful what you wish for as far as snow is concerned.
ReplyDeleteI heard it is not so great in Texas with the weather right now.
As for me, I am totally sick of the snow.
We are experiencing Siberia.
At my age, snow is only nice seen from the inside, and only for a day!!!! Like Christmas.
We have seen robins today. I...and they...are totally confused....
Sending you WARM hugs,
Evi
Sarah, it is perfect with you darling snowmen! I have lived this life and it is a real blast! I remember sledding as a kid until my toes were so numb that I could hardly walk. We'd go inside and mom would run them under luke warm water to help thaw us out. Then we'd turn right around and do it again. lol! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
Oh I just love those art pieces!
ReplyDeletePlease pop on over to my post today to see my weather - you will be amazed.
Stay warm. Smiles and prayers.
Loved your snowy day find and dream of fun in Texas. You are indeed an artist and designer and have the eye to select those "special things". What pretty copper molds, snowmen collection and the cute painting.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely snow scenery! Your beautiful painting looks right at home with your winter vignette....the snowmen are absolutely adorable:)Seems like we are experience an Arctic winter this year in the north east.....has been freezing cold lately! Enjoyed your pretty post! Love those gorgeous copper molds:) Happy week ahead! hugs, Poppy
ReplyDeleteEven our snowmen are freezing here! Need some hearts and warmth for Valentine's!
ReplyDeletexo
I love this little painting. What a wonderful find, Sarah!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful snow scenes and people!
ReplyDeleteI thought about you yesterday....last spring, one of my cute scholars brought me a beautiful yellow hyacinth. After the bloom was spent, I planted the bulb in a big barrel I have beside the drive way.......and forgot all about it. Yesterday, when it was 70° :^(, I was out trimming hedges and such, beneath the old clumpy leaves and junk...lo and behold a sweet pale yellow hyacinth :^).
I was impressed that out of such a mess of winter junk, God could produce such a sweet delicate flower!!
Blessings,
J
That is such a sweet picture! We here in Michigan are having a major snowy January. We beat our all time record of snowfall already for Jan. history and it just keeps on coming! Thank you for sharing at TTF. Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteActually your charming picture reminds me of when I was growing up. We had a school and playground next door with a great hill to slide down. We would be out well after dark under the streetlights building snowmen and snow forts. Sweet memories. Dawn did good to find this picture that has made so many people smile, I am sure you are delighted with it.
ReplyDeleteI lived in the snow for years, it's kind of nice not be be in it now. Thanks tons for linking to Inspire Me. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteDear Sarah,
ReplyDeletewhat a charming painting. She must be an artist, the little kids are so nicely painted. Your vignettes are wonderful. I wish you a nice time.
Best greetings, Johanna
We live in Kansas and get snow now and then, but not much this year. I love that painting!! I would love to have you hop over and share with us at Tell Me About It Tuesday! (http://www.sweetsillysara.com/2014/01/tell-me-about-it-tuesday-3.html)
ReplyDeleteDarling painting! I lived in the north for years and don't miss the snow one bit!
ReplyDeleteKaree
This is marvelous! Glad your back on the blog rolls! I am honored that you shared at Home and Garden Thursday!
ReplyDeleteKathy
Such a cute painting Sarah.
ReplyDeleteOn a snowy day, I like to do the same thing I do on every other day: Sit my hips down in the most comfortable chair in the house and do NOTHING!!!!!!!! :-) Or go shopping. I don't mind wrestling a few snowflakes to go shopping!
ReplyDeleteSnow is no where to be seen where I live, but been a Newyorker snow it's so much in my memory, so no, it is not foreign. Beautiful picture. I love to watch movies, snow or not, lol!
ReplyDeleteFABBY
So sweet! We got a little snow here and in the South everything shuts down before the first flake! Love staying in and keeping warm.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing at AMAZE ME MONDAY!
Blessings,
Cindy
These snowmen are adorable, and I love your new piece! It is, indeed, prefer with your other snowmen.
ReplyDeleteWe may not get snow, but we have a mess in our yard. It is raining, too. Ugh!
