Scarecrow, Scarecrow
I see Blackbirds looking at me.
I see Frisky Squirrel
Frisky Squirrel, Frisky Squirrel
The summer we married, my husband was in graduate school, and I was employed as a teacher. We took a portion of our savings that summer and purchased a sailboat. We christened our Catalina 22, “Hyacinths For The Soul” after Saadi’s poem. Our "Hyacinths" provided years of pleasure.

What a sweet post!
ReplyDeleteI remember how happy I was when the nights cooled down during our year in Oklahoma - I'd never known such heat.
Another delightful post, the scarecrow is adorable.
ReplyDeleteBut really, Sarah, 90 degrees in the Autumn, when we didn't even get such high temps in the Summer, it just isn't fair!

Even here in NY it's a very slow change to Fall. Todays it's to be in the mid 70s.
ReplyDeleteLove your fallness, particularly those squirrels and their acorns.
Thanks so much for taking the time to put together a post for SEASONAL SUNDAYS!

It's been really nice in Philly this last week, down to the 50's at night and low humidity! I love your squirrel with the big acorn:@)

Know what you mean, jellybean! I love Brown Bear too! Such a clever post and we here in Tennessee are slowy faling into fall, it is supposed to be 95 tomorrow and I am sick and tired of HOT! I just want to say I appreciate your lovely photos and intresting posts, sorry I have not responded but i do read. The beginning of school is always tough for me and I am now getting "back into the weing" and plan to read, post and comment more!
ReplyDeleteI love both the scarecrow and the squirrels! It certainly looks like fall. We have had such a cool summer in Southern California so right now I'm holding on to every last minute of that season. But there is just something so very special about fall!!! Very cute post!
ReplyDeleteSarah, this post is so cute! What a great way to "fall" into Fall. love the black birds on the pumpkins. laurie
ReplyDeleteSo cute Sarah. I can see you are getting in the Fall mode...it just happens whether we want it to or not. I love it..so I embrace it all. Cute pics!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sarah, for inviting me in. I've enjoyed the visit. When I am not in Maine, I live in Houston so we share Texas. Maine is definitely cooler! L
ReplyDeleteReally like your Fall decor - especially the pumpkins with the black birds sitting on them. The temps are still pretty warm around here also, but since the humidity has been down, it is more bearable.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by.
Have a great week.
This was delightful Sarah! I like your pretty lifelike squirrel statues. Even though they always steal my bird feeder seeds I like to watch the squirrels. We had a beautiful weekend but I do notice the days getting shorter.
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah,
ReplyDeleteLove the poetic reminder of the coming of what may well be my favorite season. We've long had our last 90 degree day. This is after all Minnesota. So you come to treasure spring, summer and fall before the coming of Nanook of the North winter.
I LOVE the spirit of your blog.
Ruben
We're still having hot days here in GA too. The mornings kind of shock me when I walk outside to a cool breeze. Can't wait for the leaves to start changing!
ReplyDeleteSarah-You are ready for fall! I adore your squirrel! It is still SO hot here--98 yesterday, a record. Thanks for your encouragement on my little sewing project--I was kidding about slipcovers :).
ReplyDeleteSarah,
ReplyDeleteLove your scarecrow and your fall pumpkins are so great! Love all your accessories! We too are having warm days and cool evenings and mornings...so nice to go out in the coolness and have a cup of tea!

J'adore Fall... I think it is my second favorite season of the year right behind Spring!
ReplyDeleteSquirrel, squirrel what do you hear?
ReplyDeleteIt's Kathleen yelling, "Get out of here!"
I am always chasing them away. They dig up my flower pots looking for nuts! :)
Love your falling into fall displays, so pretty!
I have shopped, but not brought the bins out. Have to pack up all the summer things from outside. But it is still nice and warm, with a chill at night. Perfect!
Loved your squirrel and acorns...loved it all. We went to pick up two chicks on Sunday and the guy had an acorn tree with the acorns falling like crazy. We had to hold something over our heads as we looked at all the baby chicks. And the acorns on the tin roof....oh mine..what an awful racket they made but they were the biggest acorns I had ever seen. I picked up a whole bag of them to craft with sometime.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to get out and gather acorns to use in the house.
ReplyDeleteYour fall is just beautiful..
Our weather in this part of Texas is still some 90's but mostly this week it will be in the 80's. Early morning and late evening does have a tiny nip to it...
I love fall decorations:) Still looking for crows:)I saw them on a bench last year and was quite taken.. certainly not w/ my real ones in the yard though:)So pretty Sarah.
ReplyDeleteNeat fall decor! I'm slowly getting there. We just returned from our trip Tuesday.
