Hello, Spring ~ A Blog Tour
A big thank you to
Katie @ Let's Add Sprinkles
for organizing and hosting our
Hello, Spring Blog Tour!
Welcome!
It's been a roller coaster of a winter,
but I do think spring is finally here.
Bluebonnets are blooming, and . . .
The tulips have popped up
to add some vibrant color to the garden.
Bunnies can
be seen hopping about.
You'll find them in the garden . . .
Where flowers are beginning
to show their pretty faces.
Ahh . . . Springtime in Texas!
The days are perfect for lounging on the
terrace in the warm sunshine . . .
sunny spot inside the house.
Those who know me, know of my
affinity for most animals, especially bunnies.
You're sure to see these little critters tucked here and there
around the house, much like they are out in the garden.
Herend bunnies gather on the shelves
in the living room.
These cuties too!
I seem to be attracted to the charm of
these little cast iron rabbits who have followed
me home through the years.
The standing bunny top right is the most recent.
The dealer said when she found him he was attached to an inkwell.
Evidently the ink well was in sad condition, but she
knew someone like me would give this little fellow a home.
This group fits right in among some of the leafy
pieces of my vintage majolica on the living room bookshelves.
This big guy with his load of baskets sits on the shelf above.
He is very special because he once belonged to a
good friend who is no longer with us.
The petite lapin with a basket of flowers on his back
was a gift from a friend who knows I like these little metal bunnies.
He is part of a vignette on the table in the kitchen sitting room.
and the jaunty rabbit on the stand was painted by a local artist.
Vignettes within the Irish pine cupboard in the
kitchen sitting room include some French faience bunnies.
The wool needle punch bag that hangs
on the door was an Etsy find.
The talented Leslie @ Heartfully Homespun
created this darling bag using a Brenda Gervais design.
The work is exquisite, and I'm impressed with design's details.
Fresh cut flowers are a treat
that we give ourselves around here.
They don't have to be hyacinths to feed our souls.
sit among silver containers on the Welsh dresser in the dining room.
Last year I scrambled to get Easter things
out soon after Valentines Day.
You can see a complete post on my 2016 Easter table here.
This spring, with Easter still a month away,
I'm not yet ready to pull out the Easter decor.
A single vase of flowers is all that is on the table for now.
Over on the sideboard is a Courtly Check vignette
that hints of what's to come in April.
When I spotted this darling little chick in the
MacKenzie-Childs spring catalog, it was love at first sight.
companion to the wonderful Courtly Check rabbit that
my "personal shoppers" found for me at the
MacKenzie-Childs' Barn Sale last summer.
Thank you, Debbie and Patti!
See these adorable little chicks?
They are one of a kind, painted for me by the talented
Patti @ Pandora's Box.
around the house in an upcoming post, so please come back soon.

ReplyDeleteI always seeing your beautiful collections Sarah, especially those cast iron bunnies! Your Courtly Check bunny and chick are beautiful additions and make a wonderful vignette for Easter. I love seeing glimpses of your garden and flowers in bloom. It makes me wish I had a crop of Bluebonnets springing up! Kisses and warm sun puddle lounging to Miss Sadie. ♥
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning post talking to one's heart and warming it with the colors and the sun of the early Springtime, thank you, dear Sarah !
ReplyDeleteWishing you a most lovely remainder of your week
with sincere gratitude

I love the first hints of spring. Have a great week, Sarah! Reminder: you are scheduled for next week's What Makes Me Happy post. xo
ReplyDeleteOh Sarah your garden is such a delight for the senses. I wish I could transport you to my own backyard for advice. Your collection of cast iron rabbits are pure enchantment. The wool needle punch bag is a true work of art. It is such an honor for me to be on this lovely tour with you.
ReplyDeleteOh dear..such a vast collection of sheer cuteness..You are La Grande "collector"♥
ReplyDeleteSarah, your collections are stellar in every sense. The cast iron and garden variety really strike a chord with me, as does the textile - I love their durability. That majolica collection with the cast iron grouping is heaven for me, but each and every vignette just draws me in with a hopeless affinity for....well, for collecting! Patti's piece for you is adorable - lucky you to have that one, and to add it to the MC entourage, so handsome are they!
ReplyDeleteHappy Spring, my friend, and thanks for sharing your wonderful collections. What a treat!
Sarah, your home is just so beautiful! I love the flowers outside and the colorful collections inside. I'd love to see a tour sometime. :)
ReplyDeleteSarah, your bunnies are a lucky bunch to live in such a lovely home, inside and outside. Wonderful touches and details everywhere. Thanks so much for sharing. What an inspiration.
ReplyDeleteIt is so gorgeous. You have an amazing bunny collection. So many prized examples. Thank you, Sarah, for being part of our tour. What a wonderful stop.
ReplyDeleteEverything is so stunning, I hardly know where to begin! I love the bluebonnets around your bird bath, so charming. You have so many magical nooks and crannies in your garden. Your bunny collection is enchanting too. What I love so much about your home is that it radiates with originality and love. Give your sweet Sadie a big kiss from me!!

Everything's fantastic !!! It's a wonderful blog tour ! I'm delighted with your flowers and bunnies. Hugs,Maristella.
ReplyDeleteSarah, I am such a sucker for bunnies and spring, I honestly couldn't tell you which photo I love most! Those pansies and garden flowers are fabulous and I love all your magnificent details. Maybe the photo I love most, though, is the one of you and your sweet dog because you can just feel the love.
ReplyDeleteSarah... your home decor is pure eye candy. You had me at the Herend bunnies. And all your MC accessories!! I scrolled thru 3 times because I didn't want to miss anything and then forwarded your link to my Sister for her to drool over. You have outdone yourself both inside and outside. Your flowers are so lovely and I adore the color combinations! Hope you have a wonderful weekend, dear Sarah, in your beautiful home. Love to the hubby!
ReplyDeleteThank you for reminding me to take out my French Faience salt cellar bunnies and add them to my leafy majolica! Happy Easter.
ReplyDeleteSarah, you have the most amazing collections and your bunnies are no exception. Happy Spring!
ReplyDeleteSarah, Your tour was delightful. Your garden is so lovely. I'm wondering what the plant was in the upper right in the grouping of four pictures just above your picture? Your french iris , specimum iris, and bluebonnets I recognize but haven't seen the one on the upper right. I'm hoping to see some real Texas bluebonnets next week while I am in Dallas.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed all your bunny collections and am especially liking the metal bunny with the little basket on his back full of azaleas.Your courtly check vignettes are adorable.
Your french faience in your pine cupboard is intriguing. In a few weeks I will be sharing my neighbors collection of Quimper and french faience on my blog so stay tuned. I'm enjoying the sweet MC Garden Flower Market vase. I hope you saw my post on receiving your great giveaway.
What fun and beautiful pictures! I really like spring. :)
ReplyDeleteSarah, your garden is looking so gorgeous! I am still working in mine for spring clean up, but things are coming along nicely. I love your collection of bunnies. The little metal ones are my favorite, but that courtly vignette is simply amazing! I'm still drooling over that chick and cart! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
ReplyDeletehugs,

You have quite a wonderful collection of bunnies and Majolica. Sounds like people who love you enjoy gifting you pieces they know you'll love,, how wonderful for you. Tells me you are very nice lady. Looks like you genuinely enjoy your lovely pieces.
ReplyDeleteHadn't any knowledge of Majolica until we moved to KY/Bowling Green area in 1999-2004. Still miss our wonderful house and 1 1/2 acres. Oldest son bought the place, completely redid house inside and out adding wonderful front porch to sell to us. Found out about Majolica at flea mkt.in Bowling green, spent lots of time there on weekends. What a difference prices for property are in KY compared to CO. It's awfully expensive here in Grand Junction, CO area for us. Moved here to be closer to youngest daughter and family and climate in KY was bad for me with arthritis, allergies and asthma.
We live about 18 miles west of G.J. Have 1/2 acre now out in rural area. Very quiet out here and our views are incredible.
Your post is so enjoyable, loved seeing you and fur baby out in sunshine.
Hadn't heard from you for while but our internet was awful for too long. Finally switched back to Century Link from Hughes Net which was horrible and expensive. We only have 2 providers out here so have to take what we can get. Neither one in my opinion is great.Enjoy your weekend.
So sorry, forgot to tell you how much I admired your beautiful yard and so many gorgeous plants. You must have the golden touch.
ReplyDeleteSarah,
ReplyDeleteIt was lovely to have you drop in at LAWN TEA on my little post about BJ---isn't she just the sweetest, kind funny friend? And I've simply looked my eyes full of your Bunny collection and all the wonderful vignettes gracing your shelves and tables and nooks---what a fabulous salute to Spring, and what joy they must be to wake up to and live with.
I've been dipping in and out of new blogs this morning, dropping off these little THANK YOU notes, and I've been gleaning such lovely new sights and sites to visit again and again---what an unexpected treat and such a bonus from a simple note to a friend.
Thank you for visiting and for leaving such a sweet message for BJ---she's dropping in from time to time, and enjoys hearing from all of y'all so much. Looking forward to your adventures and creations to come!
rachel and her friend Marthy

ReplyDeleteSarah! Your garden is gorgeous and I'm drooling over your Herend bunnies! They are stunning! Thank you for letting us see your beautiful world! Happy weekend to you! Toodles, Kathryn @TheDedicatedHouse
ReplyDeleteSarah,
ReplyDeleteYour flowers and bunnies outside and inside say spring has arrived. Bluebonnets are the flowers that truly announce a Texas spring, and yours are in full bloom. This week I saw huge patches along the highways going into Dallas. There were far more flowers than there were for the past several years. It's a good year for bluebonnets in our area.
I always enjoy being on a blog tour with you. Your post is always one of my favorites. Happy Spring!
Judith
Sarah, your house looks so lovely. Love your wonderful collection of bunnies. Such a delight to see them all, a happy place indeed. Your gardens are beautiful. Seeing such pretty blooms is a wonderful sign that spring has arrived. Of course I am loving your MK piece. Who could resist that sweet little chick with the egg cat. Patty did a fabulous job painting those chicks. Happy spring.
ReplyDeleteDarling Sarah, will you please stop with all the wonderful collections! Here's another gorgeous post that has me yearning to start collecting bunnies and you know I'm supposed to be downsizing! The CC bunnies and new chick are fabulous but your ever growing rabbit warren of cast iron bunnies wins for me.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing them and some of your majolica and faience pieces with the MM crowd today.

Hello Sarah :)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness.... I love all the bunnies and the bluebells... I so wish we had them here, but I don't know if they'd grow in this climate. I really need to check if they will.
Anyway, I was snooping around your blog as well and I believe we're kindred spirits with our love of old and especially our love of pups. Miss Sadie Mercedes is adorable! What a personality :)
I cannot for the life of me figure out how we've never met, when we have so many friends in common! Anyway, I want to give you my most heartfelt thanks for all your sweet words. I was truly touched.
xo,
rue

Oh Sarah! It has been too long since I have visited. Your blog inspires and delights. I am so happy you have continued blogging and I am actually envious. I have fallen off the "blog wagon" and it truly makes me sad at times. I am not sure why but I unless I am passionate about a post it seems false to me and of course so much in life gets in the way. Thanks for making my day.
ReplyDeleteKelley
