Summertime, and the Livins Easy!

Summertime, and the Livins Easy!
Those iconic words drift through my mind as I
ponder the lazy, days of summer.
Welcome to our
Summer Tablescape Blog Hop
.
A big thanks to our organizer Rita @ Panoply
You'll find links to all the festive summer
inspired tables at the end of this post.
If you are hopping over from
Maureen's Plans for the
Perfect Summer Dinner Party.
Welcome!
Maureen shares the best recipes
and most beautiful tables.

A recent visit to a favorite antique venue
yielded the little creamer above.
The buzzing bees on the honeycomb texture
spoke to my bee loving esthetic, but I also
immediately knew this little jewel would serve
as my inspiration for this summer tablescape.

Summertime and the livins easy, so I filled it
with a simple mix of flowers from my garden.
~ Orange Day Lily and Mexican Hat ~
My patch of Mexican Hat coneflowers were a gift
from the birds.  These perennial wildflowers are excellent for
pollinator conservation and bloom from May well into fall.

Yes, the livins easy with a
simple table for two on the terrace.

The livins even easier
with these enamelware dishes!

Bee Hive and Sunflowers by
Mary Lake-Thompson for The Golden Rabbit

Our ageless La Rochére glassware embossed with bees
buzzes onto most of our casual, everyday tables.
It's such a joyful pattern!

Obviously a little buzzing bee theme going on here.
The charming bee napkins are from my favorite linen source,

The silver napkin rings are also from
Crown Linen Design.
The brass bees are from MacKenzie-Childs.

I slipped a few flower stems in with the
Caspari bamboo picnic ware.

Mary Lake-Thompson's art invokes
easy livin with its fresh sophisticated style.

Like the song says,
"Summertime and the livins easy!"

"When do we eat, Mom?"

Please leave a comment before buzzing off to
Cecilia's beautiful Summer Garden Tea for Two.
Let me know what you do to make summer easy.
Thanks for stopping by.
May you enjoy a summer of easy livin!

  9. What a beautiful table, Sarah! I wish I could send you a piece of the "bee" cake I made for Cork Poppers -- it would go perfectly with it. Love your sweet pitcher. That's especially pretty and of course the flowers in your checks and the plates just set it off perfectly!

  13. Sarah, there are so many things I love about your summer table! First that adorable creamer adorned with bees! Second is those Mexican hat flowers - how adorable! But your plate stack is stunning. I love everything about it. Sliding the flat wear into the napkin ring is a nice touch and really makes the black linen napkin pop! So very pretty!

  18. Sarah, I always love to see what you'll pull from your wonderful inventory of tableware and linens. Not only do you find the unique (the creamer is buzzing with great vintage style!), but unique can also describe your finesse in styling. I just love it. The Mary Lake Thompson plates are fantastic, and I'm wondering how many pieces of that line you have?! Those Mexican Hat flowers are also unique in my book, as I've not seen them in our region (but I love that quirky appearance). Sadie wants to know why the table isn't set for three, or else she's found her seat already. ;) Great styling, Sarah!
