Tales of the Traveling Tote # 22

Rabbit, Rabbit!
Welcome to Tales of the Traveling Tote #22

I'm dedicating this edition to Poppy, my new MKC tote,
You can read all about this special bag here.
Poppy has been out and about,
getting to know Austin the past 3 months.

 January is my birth month
and this cutie's too.

We celebrated together at
Hayley's Cakes and Cookies.

Januuary was filled with celebration lunches
with friends, and Poppy joined in on every occasion.
I was excited to introduce this new girl to my precious friend, Pamela, who is also an enthusiastic collector of MacKenzie-Childs.

January 25 was the start of the Lunar New Year,
so First Sundays at The Peached Tortilla
celebrated with a Lunar New Year Megashake.

Of course I had to take Poppy!

We've been visiting favorite plant centers to see what
might be available as we plan a new courtyard
that is part of our remodel project.

Miss Poppy selected a few new pots.

Miss Poppy and I visited Gerogetown to share the day with my sister, and took her to our favorite lunch spot, Sweet Lemon!

After lunch we popped into a few new shops.
This clever heart decorated cacti caught our attention.

The shop is The World Headquarters of the Texas travel TV show,
THE DAYTRIPPER, with host Chet Garnet.
Inside we found a variety of Texas themed merchandise and handmade products made here in Texas.

"Texas is BIG!  And exploring it ain't no small vacation - it's a lifetime endeavor.  But that's exactly why we're here.  From the well-known landmarks to the completely obscure dives and hideaways, we explore every corner of the Lone Star State.  Hopefuly , inspiring you to head out on your own Texas-sized adventures."
The Texas Daytripper

Look at these cute pillows created by the
young woman who owns this shop.

Gatherings, my favorite Georgetown antique shop,
is always packed to the brim with antique and vintage pieces from the past, styled in the most amazing, eye catching vignettes.

Back in Austin, I confess, Miss Poppy is well
known at my local Starbucks.

And all my go to bakeries in town.

I enjoyed a fun evening out with girlfriends for dinner and the
Broadway Austin production of HELLO DOLLY.
My Courtly Check wallet is a perfect fit in my newly gifted
clear bag, required for such events.

No exotic travels for us,
but we sure have stayed busy!
Thanks for joining us!

    1. Patti, yes, the clear bags are mandiatory for any function at the Performang Arts Center, football stadiums, large festivals, etc. The new bag was a birthday present, and I love the way the wallet perfectly fits so it almost looks like a CC bag.

    1. Emily, it is fun to explore the local scene. And of course it's always more fun shared with my sister!
The shoes were an impulse buy. One of those annoying adds that pop up on our computer screen, and I jumped on it.

  5. Sarah, you Poppy is stunning! I really love her colors, and they blended so well with every single outing you had. From that milkshake to the vintage Gatherings, to your local restaurants, garden center and bake shops, you make ordinary life events seem like celebrations! Oh, and I love your clear bag and the wallet inside - winning combo. The girls are adorable too. It's fun to see family get in on the antics we contrive with our totes. :)

Yes, ordinary life needs to be celebrated. I decided that my 70s are a wake-up call that there is a window of time. I want to celebrate! My sister is the perfect companion for exploring what is around us everyday.

I always love seeing the current concoction at the Peach Tortilla, wowza, so amazing! Love your Courtly Check shoes, and the clear bag, is that a security law? 1. Jena, thanks for the compliment! Parrot tulips are amazing blooms. I'm always give a silent squeel of delight when I see a bunch among the others at the market.
Yes, the clear bags are required at most large functions here in Austin. Security!
I'm ready to get back in the garden. Our days are definitly warming. I have geraniums waiting to be planted. Hope to get to that this week.
The renovation is moving slowly, but it is what it is. I keep saying, this time next year it will all be done. At least I hope so!!!

  7. I am enjoying the sunshine today, and Poppy is full of color on my computer screen! Your Courtly Check wallet is a perfect fit in your clear bag, and I needed a clear bag when I went to the Wine and Food Festival in NYC. I had to leave Miss Aurora on the bus. LOL
Love the shoes too! The girls are so sweet, and you have such fun shops to visit. Happy March! Miss Tassie is looking forward to visiting plant centers, but I think it's going to be around Easter time before we can see any blooms.

    1. Poppy is full of color, and I'm so enjoying this new bag! Clear bags are required here for any large function, or else you are checking your bag in a locker. I was thrilled when my friend gave me this cute one for my birthday. With the wallet inside, it almost looks as if it is a Courtly Check bag. Ha! Ha! The shoes are cute, and I couldn't resist them when the ad popped up on my computer.

  8. Dearest Sarah,
It seems like your Poppy has become a fully adopted part of the family and of your friends circle by now.
She went with you on exciting trips for this time of the year.
Your grands look so cute and I could spot a resemblance.
    Hugs,
