~ Tartan Day ~

~ Tartan and Bluebonnets ~
We are having a beautiful spring in Texas.
We are having a beautiful spring in Texas.
A bit more tartan
recently found its way into my life.
Sharing some sister time out and about
in a few Texas antique shops,
this happy bit of tartan caught my eye.
Then I saw the
lovely brass details.
I knew immediately this
little gem was going home with me.
Price $15
All because of this French plug!
Easily fitted with an American plug,
the petite French beauty with its tartan shade
was a perfect fit for my office book shelf.
Now focus in on these.

Oh, and a touch of
Courtly Check for good measure!

last year's Tartan Parade.
Happy Tartan Day!

What a fun post! I love tartan, but have NOTHING at all in tartan. I have to say though, that I was most wowed by that figurine. It reminds me of Staffordshire Spill Vases that I lust after, but can never afford.
ReplyDeleteI love it all Sarah! The glasses are so cool:@)
ReplyDeleteSarah~ I'm mad about your plaid iPhone case and I love your recent lamp find! The bluebonnets are beautiful blooming under your plaid umbrella~ I could have used it this week, it was cold & rainy but we had sunny blue skies yesterday! Happy National Tartan Day!
ReplyDeleteLove the plaids - I have Clan Cameron ancestry, so I love all things tartan! That lamp is very special!
ReplyDeleteI love plaid. Especially with some red. Beautiful lamp. I love your figurine too. Figurines are under appreciated these days.
ReplyDeleteI love all your plaid, the umbrella is just too happy. Had to giggle when I saw the scotties on parade.

Hi Sarah!
ReplyDeleteYour posts are beautiful. I love anything plaid and that lamp was a great buy. When I was in third grade I had a plaid lunch box. Wish I had it now...

There is just something about tartans I just love. It has nothing to do with my heritage, but it always looks so warm to me! Enjoyed your post of all things tartan!!
ReplyDeleteWell tartan and blue bells do go together!!I'm in love with blue bells, they are so lovely.
ReplyDeleteAnn
My mom's dad was born in Scotland, so I've always appreciated tartans. Thanks for sharing these beautiful blues. That lamp is precious.
ReplyDeleteHappy Blue Monday, Sarah.
Sarah, you have some great Tartan. What a delightful lamp! I have a similar umbrella and now I just need to remember where I put it. Have a great week! Your new blog post doesn't show up on my side bar for some reason.
ReplyDeleteGreat post, love that first photo!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week :)
Sarah, your lamp and shade are so pretty. I am in love with the first picture of the tartan umbrella with the bluebonnets. laurie
ReplyDeleteBluebonnets and tartan...who would have thought? What a great combo! I have some bluebonnets in a vase on my kitchen island. I know it's sacrilege to pick them, but I guess you could say I needed, "Bluebonnets for the Soul."
ReplyDeleteI have to ask about the urn filled with scissors. What is the story? I love scissors and find that urn filled with scissors intriguing.
Thanks for stopping by and leaving such a nice comment on my blog.
I see that we both are blogging from Texas, so I just had to become your latest follower.

Oh fun! Those glasses are awesome and your decor beautiful! Thanks so much for saying hi and the support.
ReplyDeleteHave a super day! I have my link party on Monday if you would like to link up. It is the same party all months so you get more traffic and I feature too. Come check it out.

Oh Sarah, I love that lamp and shade; I would have jumped on that in a heartbeat! :) Like you said, that plug is easily replaced and you've got a perfectly good lamp. I love all your tartan, especially the Scotties. :)
ReplyDeleteI had intended to do a post this year for Tartan Day, but just couldn't get to it. We have Scottish ancestry and also own a Scottish Terrier (Terrorist) for a pet. He's such a rascal. :)
Have a great week; I enjoyed your post!

Wonderful post! I am a fairly new convert to tartan, but an avid one! Love the little lamp especially and the puppies in the last picture. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI have always wanted to participate in Tartan Day, but I never do! Next year, I'll do it!
ReplyDeleteLovely collection of tartan here.....I love the iPhone case! :D That little lamp was a steal! I think it's adorable, and it's so easy to rewire a lamp.
Love the Scotty cookies, and I spy with my little eye some MacKenzie-Childs MacLachlan....I love that pattern so much, and yet I don't own any *sadface* Maybe one day! ;P
Thanks for linking-up to My Happy List!

ReplyDeleteLast year was my first year blogging and I found and participated (kinda) in Tartan Day - but this year it came and went and I didn't even realize I had missed it. Darn.
Well life has me upside down right now and all I can get done is the basics.
Hopefully next year I will remember.
