MacKenzie-Childs Wittika Peanuts
offers a perfect compliment to autumn.
This simple but charming pattern named for
Wittika MacKenzie-Chaplet, granddaughter of Victoria and
Richard MacKenzie-Childs was introduced in 1999.
I've long admired American red ware pottery,
so this older MKC version enchants my
MacKenzie-Childs sensibilities..
The Wittika series was offered in three color ways.
~ Peanuts ~ Pickles ~ Picts ~
I think the Peanuts is a perfect partner for my
Nicole Miller beaded sunflower placemats
atop folded plaid napkins to introduce a touch of gray.
Then I could easily bring in these
simple striped Crown Linen Design napkins.
The final touch to the plate stack,
classically elegant pumpkins!
A natural gourd with beribboned stem among
fall leaves served as an easy, no fuss centerpiece.
The colorful leaves may be faux, but with natural leaves,
burr oak acorns, and seedpods added to the mix,
it all yields an organic feel.
I'm savoring these last days of autumn and
not yet ready to Fa La La just yet.

Sarah, this speaks fall to me in such a stylish way. We're savoring these last days of autumn and not yet ready to Fa La La just yet. New York is experiencing "bonus" weather, and we will enjoy it as long as we can.
ReplyDeleteSarah, you've captured the true color of fall for me in your setting. I can't remember ever, when fall has lingered with these spectacular mild temps and colors. We haven't had a frost or freeze and the grass is green, so we love spending our time on the veranda. I am enjoying my fall floral arrangements while I am FA La Laing. ReplyDeleteHi Sarah, the MKC "Peanuts" is new to me, or I've never noticed it before, and the fall colors are indeed spot on. I think mixing faux with real elements in flower and decorative vignettes is such a great way to make faux look real and so effective! No fa la la until after Thanksgiving for me, I love to enjoy the peace of November and it's lovely colors of the changing season.

ReplyDeleteYou keep beautiful things, Sarah. It's nice to be able to use them, isn't it? No sooner than I had my late fall out, I am now ready to go forward. Christmas lights just make me happy, even when things around me are irritating. I started yesterday (Monday), and will take it nice and slow, maybe do some baking in between.
ReplyDeleteSarah, we have had the most gloriously mild weather this last week. I feel the same way - Fa La La doesn't quite feel right. BUT I think I am going to earlier than usual this year b/c I am not having anyone in our home for once for Thanksgiving. Hubs and I are travelling up to my sister's lake house in my home town and going to use her house and host my little brother and his two sons for Thanksgiving this year. Just the 5 of us - we're the only once being VERY careful about Covid, and feel ok getting together.

ReplyDeleteI am not quite there for Christmas, either! I am enjoying the leaves beginning to fall and raking them up, and just making some Slow Cooker meals. :) Love all your Mackenzie-Childs pieces!!! I painted some old 1970's wooden soup bowls in their style with pink and black stripes. Those bowls turned upside down into part of the legs for an ottoman I made in the late 1990's/early 2000's. Loved it and those cute legs for a long time!!!
