I took the lead from a favorite Instagram account,
Days With Darviny, who encouraged others to set a table
in Blue and White to join in with a tribute of their own.
Recent heavy rains were not nice to one of my hydrangea plants.

Perfect choice for this tribute!

We live with color, and classic blue is prominent in our home.
The crisp white linens are family heirlooms,
lovingly handstitched by my husband's grandmother.

I chose a charger with a pin stripe border for its simplicity and contrasted it with the bold checks of MacKenzie-Childs' new Royal Check pattern. Both reflect the order, structure, and consistancy that one finds in a hospital setting.

Most of my readers know that I like to
roam antique markets and shops,
frequently bringing home something for the tabletop.
The antique ivory napkin ring, is a classic example
of one of my random finds. Loved the silver monagram!

Dearest Sarah,
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely table setting in blue and white!
Too bad that the rain kind of knocked your hydrangeas down. Hope they will produce soon more blooms.
We too cherish all our French damask placemats, napkins and tablecloths from Le Jacquard Français.
Sending you hugs,
Mariette
Pretty table...I have very little blue, so I enjoy seeing yours!

So beautiful Sarah, your hydrangeas are gorgeous! Perfect for pairing with the MKC plates and all your other pretties! The linens are so pretty, and the antique napkins rings, wow...I was lucky enough to watch the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds from the porch of our beach house as they practiced for their national shows about a month ago, so breath taking!!

Pantone aced it with this color choice for 2020. I love that blue and I really love what you did with it. Our frontline folks deserve all the praise they can get. Hats off to them!
ReplyDeleteI hope you're having a good, and safe, week. Take care and stay well!
Such a lovely table, from the white linens to the blue and white porcelain. The hydrangeas are perfect for this tablescape, I love pairing them with blue and white. I adore all things Molly Hatch and the antique napkins ring is such a lovely touch. A beautiful tribute Sarah for the men and women on the frontline......
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post as a tribute to those working on the frontline. I love blue and white and you have used it beautifully.Beautiful hydrangea blooms and exquisite damask napkins. It is amazing they are still so vibrant from the 1980's. The striped charger and blue and white MKC plate is lovely and the antique napkin ring is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI love how you designed the place setting in a flat lay style. So creative.
This was beautiful, Sarah. Your details are exquisite.
ReplyDeleteI got sidetracked the last time I visited this beautiful post, so here I am again. What a lovely tribute to those working on the frontline. I love your blue and white, and am still tempted to order some blue and white from MacKenzie-Childs. Wishing you a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!
ReplyDeleteThis is a seriously beautiful tribute Sarah! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous table and I love your layers. Gotta love those Thunderbirds. I was told the Blue Angels would have a flyover in Tallahassee, FL. I grew up where they train in Pensacola so I am so looking forward to seeing that. I grew up watching them perform every 4th of July and have also seen the Thunderbirds perform. Makes you feel good to be an American. My hydrangeas are just beginning to look like I can start cutting and I'm looking forward to filling my home with them. Loved your post.
