July 4, 2014
All across the USA,
Americans will celebrate with
parades ~ picnics ~ festivals ~ fireworks.
The Stars and Stripes
will wave in the breeze.
While Boston and Philadelphia
will be host to large crowds for the day's celebration,
neighborhoods from coast to coast will also celebrate.
Bicycles ~ Wagons ~ Scooters ~ Trucks ~ Cars
All festooned in
red, white, and blue.
The patriotic spirit
fills the air!
There will be picnics
and neighborhood barbecues.
As America Celebrates
Independence Day!
America's
238th Birthday
is upon us.
Happy 4th of July Sarah! Enjoy your parade, it looks like fun. We've been rained out in Philly, everything has been postponed until tomorrow. But they say the rest of the weekend should be beautiful:@)

Fun Sarah! They changed our parade and fireworks to July 5 for no reason other than they thought Sat would be better than Friday, and I felt so let down! I loved your pictures of all the craziness that I missed!
ReplyDeleteJenna
Oh, my goodness...what great pictures! The lady in the Lady Liberty crown sunglasses looks suspiciously like my across the street neighbor, Jane. I mean REALLY looks like her! Wow!
ReplyDeleteWas that an actual station wagon in that one photo???!?!?! WOW!!! I love it! It's been awhile since I've seen one. I wish they'd come back as a staple in American garages. The minivan is all played out.
We didn't get up in time to see our neighborhood parade. The Mom Council puts it on every year. This year they did something a little different and had a breakfast at the mansion immediately after. I hear it was a big hit. (We live in a historic neighborhood called Longview, and the mansion is where the Long family lived back at the turn of the last century. It's now a popular reception venue for weddings and such.)
Great post, Sarah! Have a great week!
Hope you and yours had a good Fourth. We spent ours trying to get your Chi O sister home from France. Late flights and missed connections made for a nerve wracking day. Got her home on the 5th so all is well!
ReplyDeleteYes, indeed! Proud to be an American!! I hope you had a festive and fabulous 4th, Sarah. We celebrated in Castine, a very special small town in Maine. Cheers,
ReplyDeleteLoi
Love your Uncle Sams!!!
