Waterlogue Wednesday

I've long wanted to be a watercolorist,

but alas I'm not talented at drawing or painting.

I've tried, taken classes, but no success.

That is until tonight!

I'm now painting with ease, my friends.

Like many of you,

I've jumped on the Waterlogue train.

For the modest cost of $2.99

I can transform my photos from this .   .   .

Into lovely watercolor images.

It's my latest iPhone app.

These are my first attempts.

Quickly transformed

this evening just in time for the following party.

Want to join in the fun?

Download the app, start "painting"

like a pro and share your work at

Rhondi's Waterlogue Wednesday.

Rhondi @ Rose Colored Glasses

I may just print some on

watercolor paper and make notecards.

  1. This IS such fun indeed! I love your picture with the lamp and plants (the lamp looks like it's sketched into the picture) - beautiful. Thanks for your kind comment. Now that I kind of know how to "link" I must try to link something to dear Vee's notecard party too - see if I can figure this out.

  2. Your watercolors are beautiful and would look so nice framed or printed as notecards. It's a bit addicting isn't it?

  6. Good Morning Sarah, When I first read that you wanted to be a Watercolourist, and saw the first photograph, I thought my word, you certainly are a Watercolourist because the Watercolour was so beautiful. Then I read on and I was amazed.... to think that an app can be used and a Watercolour print achieved is amazing. Do you know, I think I can see a few Watercolour prints in my home, because I love Watercolours as well.
Thank you for the introduction to this app.
    Best Wishes
    Daphne

  9. Sarah, these looks marvelous! I love the one with the flower and dog! I've got to get my husband's Ipad and download this app! They really look like a most wonderful artist painted them!

  13. Good morning Sarah. Isn't 'to this app fun? Your paintings turned out great. My favorites are the ones with the blue chins in them, of course. Thanks for joining the party. Hugs, Rhondi

  14. Like you, I can't draw or paint worth a lick, so it is terrific when they come out with new programs to change our photos into painting-like images. These turned out beautifully! I downloaded the app about a week ago and I'm still playing around with it. Another one you might like is called Glaze, and I think it is free. It does a lovely job too.

  15. They do look like Monets! I think making them up into real note cards would make a beautiful set for a gift or your own personal note cards.

  16. This is what I have been doing all weekend! I haven't posted, yet, but I am in love! I still have my Valentine's post up. I don't think you've seen it yet, but it will probably be up till I can borrow Mr. Magoie's computer to upload these. Glad to know there is a meme for this. Fun!

Your pictures are truly gorgeous, Sarah. And isn't it odd how you have to try all the applications because you never know which one will look best? I am stunned sometimes when that last crazy app turns out best or rainy or one of the others. It is so much fun! I am truly hooked. But I think your "water colors" have mine beat! Just stunning!

  19. Hi, I new to Card Party, and I can tell you since I do watercolors....these are just magnificent.

This is the very type of watercolor that is my passion.

I am just amazed at modern technology that can do anything a human can do.. well almost! HaHa

Truly enjoyed looking at the details of your cards. I posted three of my watercolor cards this week.

  29. Oh Sarah, the app does wonders! I saw someone else today had used it, too. I must check into it as it looks like fun.
My son that is here with me is an artist and I actually tried a watercolor today, but it's with the grandkids' paints and plain paper, not the good, watercolor kind.

  33. Sarah,
Love your watercolor prints/photos! On one of my older computers (Macs), there was a built-in watercolor option, but on my last couple of computers, it wasn't included, and I have been missing it. I will jumping on the Waterlogue train, too.

  34. How much fun! Watercolor is SO HARD! I leave watercolors for the real artists because they are unforgiving.

But wow do I ever love this app! How cool is this?

They would be a pretty addition to your decor!

  55. I wanted SO badly to join and get Waterlogue, but it will not work with my android! AHHHH! I cannot find anything as good for my Samsung devices, so I guess I better practice my watercoloring this summer! Lovely transformation, isn't it?

HI SARAH! How lovely to see your comment this morning....your words are so kind and mean so much to me as a wannabe writer. I took one poetry class last summer that changed the course of my writing goals and what little ground-breaking lessons I got from that one class have helped enormously with shaving down my thoughts. Thank you so much for commenting on that.

May YOU be an angel (I know you are) to someone totally unknown to you. That's when it's the most stunning of experiences.

    Much love, Anita

  56. I recently got that app too Sarah and it is awesome. I am an artist, but have always struggled with the delicacies of watercolor~this app makes it pretty easy! I just used it to design wedding gift bags for a friend, I just might have to blog about it and join the party! Thanks for the info and sharing your lovely paintings!
