I've had this darling tray by Mary Engelbreit for more than
20 years, and I still smile when I pull this into service.
My husband's grandmother
monogramed this vintage tea towel.

ReplyDeleteWhat a clever friend you have. I've never thought of painting on silver.
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah,
ReplyDeletethats a luxury fun to paint the tea pot. But looks great. I enjoyed all the decorations very much. You are so fond of black and white checks. I have never before seen so many nice decorations with this pattern. It never gets boring at your home.
Best greetings, Johanna
Beautiful, Sarah.
ReplyDeleteThe fall vignette and tea tray are so whimsical, tea time with flair, indeed.
Love how you paired it with the sunflowers and painting...just perfect..and YOU KNOW I want that sweet little compote! I was emailing Deb (Mountain Breaths) last night and told her if you, she and I lived near each other we would have too much fun (and we could share all of our M-C items!!) Thanks for the "shout -out"!! Glad you are enjoying the tea pot!

What a creative and wonderful idea! That tea pot looks so cute like that. Your tray is adorable, and how wonderful you have the monogramed towel made by your husband's grandmother. Hope you have a great week, my friend. laurie
ReplyDeleteI love the long lines down the neck of the tea pot Sarah! And the vintage tea towel is a true heirloom-enjoy:@)
ReplyDeleteSarah, beautiful sunflowers, a favorite painting, and such a sweet teapot. It doesn't get any better than that. Patti is one talented lady. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteSarah, The painted tea pot is so unexpected and fun and it "plays" so well with the MacKenzie-Childs pieces and the Mary Engelbreit tray. Love it! I'm going over to see Patti @ Pandora's Box.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Babs
:)
ReplyDeleteA lovely tea time. Your tray would still bring a smile to my face even after 20 years. I miss the Mary E. magazine, I really enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteThe teacpot transformation, spectacular!
I might have to steal this little idea if it is ok with you.
Have a happy week!
Kelley
Oh boy! That is so darn cute! She did a fabulous job on it too! I am so jealous!! Love your vignette! I'm in love with the MacKenzie Child's tableware! I'm going to pick up a piece here and there. It will be random since they are so expensive! Love your cup and compote!
ReplyDeleteOk, I am totally jealous, this is fabulous. Looks like a fantastic still life painting. Thanks for joining TTT. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteI recall seeing the teapot featured when it was painted, lucky you to receive it.

That teapot is so perfect for you, Sarah (or for Debbie, at Mountain Breaths)!! I'm going to be on the look out for an old silver one. It is stunning with your sunflowers! Aren't you enjoying the cooler temps??

ReplyDeleteI LOVE that teapot and how perfect for fall. Thanks for sharing it with us.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking where can I get myself one of those check tea pots - and you painted it! Now that is something different, I love it looks great. I have started a bit of a tea pot collection myself my latest purchase was fluro pink with flowers on it I love it :)
ReplyDeleteIt certainly is beginning to feel cooler! Glad you are enjoying a new pot with a lovely transformation! It so perfect with with your Mackenzie Childs china and the cute tray makes for a special tea time. I am also reading the fall magazines and enjoy all their tips.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Pam
Is this an actual MacKenzie-Childs piece, or did someone paint a silver teapot. I am in love with this! It even has the smushy yellow ochre on some of the white squares. I wish that I knew what kind of paint that they used. Of course, the sunflowers were mandatory! How's that new baby boy? Our Honey Bee is due tomorrow, if she decides that she is ready to make an appearance. We'll see. Cherry Kay
ReplyDeleteSarah! I have a serious case TEAPOT envy! So brilliant for Patti to embellish it with checks and it pairs so beautifully with your MC mug, sunflowers & ME tray! I makes enjoying tea and cookies that much more sweet :)
ReplyDeleteWow! I am really iompressed with that work. So pretty andlooks so good mixed up with the real MacKenzie Child's dishes. Beautiful tea setting, Sarah!....Christine

It's a beautiful teapot. I love how you used it with the ME tray. Wonderful tea setting!
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments on the pumpkins...I have loved Romantic Homes and Sothern Lady for many years..I adore your new teapot and I must say, I wish it were mine!
It's a beauty! Have a wonderful evening!
~Shirley
What a cute way to paint an old silver teapot! It makes a great vignette. Visiting from A Delightsome Life. Pamela
ReplyDeleteOOh I wonder if she stitched the hardanger below the monogram... it's all quite lovely. Painted the teapot???? Oh it just looks so charming and cute. Love your vignettes.. xo marlis
ReplyDeleteSarah l love the your teapot and what a lovely vignette. Perfect for end of summer early fall. Sunflowers are a favorite of mine. We still have miserable hot days. I've noticed a little cooler in the morning and evenings. Still waiting for the first fall weather. Everything is still so green from all the rain and no signs of fall yet. Lovely tea towel from your grandmother, beautifully displayed with your MC.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend.
~Emily
An absolute ADORABLE setting. I love every single thing in it....and the teapot....OMGOSH...TO. DIE. FOR.
ReplyDeleteWhat a clever friend! That teapot is darling! It's a beautiful shape for the checks. Your yellows with the black just pops! Love the quilt too. It's all so pretty and cheerful!
ReplyDeleteThat teapot brought an instant smile to my face!!! What a great idea! I know I would never have the patience or skill to do something like that, but I am so glad someone else has it in them! :-) It goes SO well with the Mary Engelbreit tray and MacKenzie-Childs pieces!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo much to love! Especially the black and white teapot with the colorful compote! They really look so cute together!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute idea for a thrifted teapot!
ReplyDeleteWow what a great idea painting a teapot. Ordinarily I might not have the heart for it but I just found one last week and I love the shape but it has some sort of oxidation on it that won't come off. I would not have thought of painting it without you showing off this little gem. I'll have to check out the tutorial!
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Liz
How cute is that tea pot, Sarah! It just says you! What a wonderful gift! Love the vignette, too! Hope you are having a great week!!...hugs...Debbie
ReplyDeleteThe painted teapot is adorable! You have a flair for making it all work in such a pleasing way.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a clever idea! The teapot is just adorable -- and perfect in the setting you arranged for it. I will definitely check out Patti's blog!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations for winning the painting from French Country Home! Love your tea pot idea... very clever.
ReplyDeleteHi, Sarah! It's good to be back, and it's so good to hear from you! I planned on stopping by, but your comment brought me right over, and as soon as I saw that darling teapot I remembered your wonderful collection of MacKenzie Childs--what a perfect match!! Beautiful vignette you created! Orange with blue and white...yes, I need to go there, and I think I have the perfect runner for it. I may need to add to my "Versatile Blue and White" series. :) ~Zuni
ReplyDeleteLove that teapot! Very MacKenzie Childs!
ReplyDeleteThat teapot is gorgeous - especially filled with the sunflowers. Anything of ME's never fails to make me smile.
ReplyDeleteJudy
What a perfect teapot that patti found for you, Sarah! Did she paint the checks on it or did it come that way?
ReplyDeleteI have not taken out my autumn decorations as yet as i usually wiat until the month of October to do that when the temperatures are cooler and the leaves are beginning to turn. Now I know I'll be going over each and every decoration with a critic's eye deciding what will move with us and what I will have to throw away or donate. I have so much for Christmas I will need a truck for that alone...lol!
Love the teapot dressed in black and white. Great vignettes.
ReplyDeleteThe black & white teapot is so clever - I never would have thought of that. And the monnogrammed tea towel - what a treasure. You know, the word "sable" means "sand" in French. Wonder if they call those cookies "sables" because of the dusting of sugar on top? We have a cookie called "pecan sandies" with sugar on top??? Linda
ReplyDeleteI am loving the transformation of the teapot! It is so perfectly done. I haven't seen the new Fran pattern in real life yet but it does look like fun! Your yellow and white quilt is a perfect backdrop for your tea tray. I'm hoping to go into the M-C store in NYC soon, so maybe I'll have pictures to share. Linda
ReplyDeleteThe Mary E. tray is a real treasure! And I love the magazines you got. I hardly ever buy magazines any more but these are very tempting! Love the cute pitcher, too. This is a fun time to decorate!
ReplyDeleteSarah, I love this post so much! Two of my favorite things: Mary Engelbreit and MacKenzie-Childs. I love the new patterns in the Taylor series, especially Fran! Precious little compote. :D
ReplyDeletePatti did an amazing job on the cute little teapot. She is so sweet, too!
SARAH! I LOVE THAT CHECKERED TEA POT! But I am confused, in one pick, it has not checkers...is it the same pot?
ReplyDeleteWe have an AMPERSAND store in our area and they specialize in these beautiful kitchen wonders in black and white check.....too far beyond my price range but I would love to have a piece one day!
Thank you for your kind comments and visit. You face is always a lovely sight to see! BISOUS, Anita
this is such a fun and happy tea! Love the teapot and that tray. This whole post just made me smile!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love that teapot and the butter cookies! I enjoyed your post.
