No Friend Like a Sister

THERE IS NO FRIEND LIKE A SISTER
by Mary Engelbreit

Available here on Amazon.

Poster of the book cover available here at
Mary Engelbreit's online shop.

This is another of the little Mary Engelbreit gift books published by Andrews & McMeel. It is a "collection of poignant illustrations that celebrate the unique bond that exists between sisters." The words on the pages of this book totally reflect how I feel about my sister. My favorite page is the one in the mosaic above with the two sisters, one fair haired and the other dark haired, just like my sister and me.

It includes this poem by Edgar A. Guest:

I'd like to be the sort of friend
that you have been to me.

I'd like to be the help
that you've been always glad to be.

I'd like to mean as much to you each
minute of the day as you have meant,

Old friend of mine, to me along the way.

By Edgar A. Guest

As you can tell from the photo,
this sweet baby girl was born some years ago.

Happy Birthday, Sis.
You are truly a blessing in my life.

  17. I have two sisters and we are still very close. So many families have issues and never see or communicate with their families. Nice knowing you are one of the lucky ones.

  37. It's only my sister & me, neither of us could have children.

You don't know as little girls what the future brings.

    We have each other.

    A blessing.
